poor Polt T_T You're crazy, polts the one whos always lucky when he pulls off wins that shouldn't happen vs MMA. The last game just now proves MMA is better than Polt, no luck involved in either players builds, just outplaying. Polt is 7-2 versus MMA. MMA played better than Polt that game. Polt played better than MMA the first game. Polt has historically played better when the two have faced off. And yes, there was luck in the builds. MMA got vikings. Polt went cloaked banshees. The result? All of Polt's banshees die instantly and do nothing. If MMA doesn't get vikings, Polt gets SCV's and gets an early lead. But every game has luck involved with build orders. What??? Vikings are the defacto thing to make when playing safe / siege expand and are a perfect counter to banshees and...vikings. It's one of the safest way to play, Banshee on the other hand is a bit of a gamble. the guy before you bascially says "whoever builds a cloak banshee has an early lead" if you think about it for a moment :D not the smartest choice of words No he didn't. He stated the build was hard countered because MMA decided to go for that build in the first place. If MMA decided to play Risky, Polt would've severely punish MMA.
But instead he played safe, not to mention that he scanned (something that lots of Terran don't do) and saw the 99% banshee opening. But still, even if he decided beforehand, the fact that he played it safe means that little luck was involved. I mean he did a variation of the siege expand build, that's like the safest you can get which means no luck by not relying on gimmicky cloak etc. openings.

do you guys really wanna watch 2 guys play a casual game during GSL blizzard cup where neither of them cares about winning?
im not saying what naniwa did was right or wrong, or manner or bad manner. im just saying i think the system should allow for walkovers if they players request it if the game has no meaning if it had no meaning, why would nestea prepare for it so much beforehand? it simply was a game lots of fans were looking forward to and got disappointed...and they have the right to point that out.
Because neither Nestea nor Naniwa know for sure how their first 3 games would work out.
Obviously if Naniwa was liek 2-1 and had to win the game to make it out of the group he would bust his ass in the game (or hell, if he was 0-3 but winning the game would mean Nestea wouldn't advance, like if Nestea was 2-1 he would try), just like Nestea. But since neither had any chance anymore and there's nothing on the line except for pride, I wouldn't even say Nestea would take the game seriously either (at best he would try to do something that would humiliate Naniwa if it worked).

So by the looks of it he probe rushed in a game that had no meaning what so ever and that's it. People are going apeshit and koreans are making mean tweets. I really thought he had said fuck you and thrown a computer to the ground or something but a probe rush? Really? This makes people that upset? As most people before you have said, it's not the fact that the game didn't matter, it's just that YOU'RE ON TV, you're supposed to make a show of it, that's what they pay you to do, and that's what the fans are paying to watch. I bet you don't pay for the gsl ticket, so you don't feel robbed by this kid at all. The point stands, that what he did was deeply unrespectful towards both his fans (and nestea's fans) and the people that pay to see him in korea a.k.a Complexity, before that Quantic, and I just can't wait to see this guy teamless... There's a difference between having an attitude (like Idra, which gives him so much marketing value), and having maturity problems... this attitude is just really immature, and he doesn't understand, or doesn't want to understand, that his JOB is to play scII... he can't do this kind of things, it's like telling your boss you don't want to do his stupid work, because you think it's pointless... good luck with that. Last thing: it's on tv... people pay to watch this... there can't be walkovers, or if there were, the player or team should pay a hefty sum of money as a penalty (like in real sports). I'm just gonna quote Idra here: "@idrajit Greg Fields dont have meaningless matches if you want players to take them seriously."
I rarely agree with that guy, but that is spot on. And about the TV thing... You sincerely think that TV/broadcasting runs sports?

I don't want to comment on anything about whether its right to do it but damn naniwa handled that situation really stupidly. A simple 4 gate rush would prolong the agony by 4-5 minutes and save him all this trouble and bad PR that he is getting. I know he dosen't care but it just seems so stupid when you could do a little more to save all these trouble.

yes that might be totally differen if he or both would have won matches but...isnt the whole purpose of that tournament to compete and match against the very best of the world? how can someone simply drop that? at least, even going 0-3, showing that you still are worthy to take part in this tournament? i cant understand that mindset at all.
and for Nestea vs Naniwa: now it looks like he chickened out, not playing against Nestea because it would have probably been a loss...which whould have hurt his ego i guess.

MC once again the brotoss hope in Korea like he always is. MC fighting!!!

Nestea getting worked. Not surprised.

It's funny how MMA and Polt both have to play against the player responsible for getting them in the Blizzard Cup in the first place. If either of them manage to knock out MVP they should pay him dinner.

I thought today's games were awesome. Much better than yesterday.
The last five games of the day are all worth watching. Even Naniwa-Nestea for the hilarity/so you know what all the drama is about. Both Polt/MMA and MMA/Leenock games were awesome.

Shit, MMA's pretty good.
Really disappointed about NesTea though...

Good to see MMA playing so well, and finally overcoming that Polt curse in the end. I really hope MMA wins this tournament.
As for Nestea, I cannot tell if this is just a slump or he is starting to regress back into Zergbong form...

He has arguably already taken over NesTea's spot as #1 zerg in the world. At least for this moment.

TV/broadcasting deals established the Saturday college routine, Sunday NFL routine, March Madness schedule, etc. etc.

They have the game in the first place because the fans (who in my case pays to watch the VOD, which in turn funds the tournament) want to watch two rivals play against each other. Given that they're both competitors I'd imagine they'd want to win.
