Jesus christ, stop whining about the time being bad allready. You do have the option to get VODs for a mere $10, and an event in CA WILL be at an awkward time for europe (and probably even east-coast US). If they were to take Europe into consideration they would have no live audience whatsoever, people aren't generally excited about asc2 final before breakfast.

It is the NASL's problem though, they're not even breaking 50k viewers. And wwhen mlg is in Anaheim again you will be screwed. Expecting a tournament on the west coast of the united states to work for people in Europe is unrealistic

This is a bad decision by NASL and they are going to lose a big chunk of viewers for their grand final for little reason. Well when do u think it's on in EU? U still can't have school or a job to watch it live over here. I wonder if they could've chosen a worse time for the finals. It's not even good for all american timezones on a sunday. Yeah because if tournaments are named after a region they obviously dont give a fuck about other region fans , lol great argument. The arguement makes even more sense when you consider the GLOBAL starcraft 2 league being hard to watch in most of the world.
Actually the GSL is fine to watch in everywhere that's not the americas...

would still be watchable though, Euros aren't asking for it to be scheduled exactly for them, just something reasonable for everyone so that the audience is at the highest it can be, why a business wouldn't want this I dont know but then again its not the first questionable decision NASL have made

I was actually making fun of the fact that the regional name means shit , everyone wants every fan they can get. I can assure you GSL would alter their times if they thought more fans could follow. I mean I dont ask for something extreme but make it a bit earlier... Late is fine , I stay up every time US tournaments are off but this is at 7-8 am for me and 5-6 am for rest of europe...

GSL starts at 10 or 11 am in Germany (speaking of Code S, group stages) and lasts until 2 pm at worst. Watched the Nasl Ro8 and Semi-1 yesterday, started 9 or 10 pm i believe, first semi final ended around 4:30 am, maybe earlier. That's bs, considering it's weekend ( well i had nothing to do this weekend so np). Can't watch the grandfinals. This tourney is simply unwatchable for the majority of the fans i believe. Could've been better, but they didn't learn a thing from last season.. Majority of the fans? It's the North American Star League, so I'm sure "most" of the fans are in the US watching at no more than 3 hours ahead of local time in California. Why would more fans be american? It's just the freaking name of the tournament. What time should the NASL air out of curiousity for it to be comfortable for you? I think I missed the first two groups of Dreamhack where I live (Same timezone as California) so I would have prefered it to air about 2 hours later. It wasn't a big deal for me, but I don't see any reason that NASL shouldn't air at a time friendlier for you guys. It's good business.
Edit: some guys said two hours earlier would be better for. I'd be perfectly fine with that (In fact I'd like it better). Waking up to Starcraft 2 is awesome, as is watching it with a warm cup of coffee. Also to keep in mind, Championship Sunday for MLG start at 9 oclock (Whereas NASL is starting at 12 oclock on the west coast).

Last season the hall was packed when the final game started 6 hours earlier.

GSL is very difficult to follow for both americans and euros, except for the finals and even then you have to wake up relatively early on saturday

The GSL has also been going for months and months and people have gotten used to it. Add to that the guaranteed (relative) quality of the GSL... I'm rather impressed with what NASL has put together for this weekend, actually, but scheduling the finals like this is a mistake or an intentional move to alienate their european watchers.

Oh no i think that the GSL's times are fine, i was saying the argument that leagues should be timed according to their names wasnt true. I have a problem with NASL because they are making it hard for at least half of their viewership to watch their finals.

And MLG was usually held in EST, 3 hours ahead of where NASL is. When mlg was in anaheim, similar problems arose.

In fairness, most MLG events aren't on the west coast.
MLG Anaheim was on the west coast and its grand finals started only 45 minutes earlier.

NASL is medicore at best, you would be dump to pay for VODs.
So instead of getting more people to watch the finals live, making money from ads and maybe getting people hooked to a flawed product, they are pissing off a good bunch of people (read: all of EU).
Do you still believe the complains from the EU fans are unreasonable when even for the East Coast guys the finals start at 10:00pm?
