Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:
- NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever.
Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment. |

Blind FFE is a form of cheese because you are HOPING your opponent is not going to counter it.
It's not a strategy at all, just a coin toss.

Total Record: 34 - 5 *technically* huk, nestea, and DRG aren't in code S anymore, but yeah, crazy run
Those series were still very fun to watch. HuK was displaying great micro this weekend, nestea was definitely up and down and drg was as inconsistent as ever, but the games leenock played against them were still very entertaining to watch and if you want to improve your play you can learn a lot from watching those games.

Actually it's not just one tournament, at all.
Terrans will be totally fine. But it's certainly not just this tournament that they have seemed decidedly less OP.
Seems like only yesterday that both ZvT and PvT were being decried as unwinnable by many a scrub, and I don't mean to rub it in but kindly suck it, balance whiners. That's right, I even play terran and I'm happy terran isn't winning because maybe now people might shut up and wait more than a week before deciding absolutely that a race is overpowered, and that anyone who argues against that 'fact' is delusional or biased.
Ah but terran got nerfed, right? That must be it. It must have been that EMP radius nerf that stopped the terran freight train of winning everything. You guys were right; we do need patches to fix the game, as soon as possible, let's definitely not wait to see if the metagame stabilizes. After all if a race has a winrate above 50% for any period of time, they must be overpowered. It's maths. It's not like that's supposed to happen in an asymmetrical RTS.
I'll shut up now. But I had to let that out. I don't mean to be smug. But I fucking am.

Congrats to Leenock. Hope he will buy his teammates some chicken lol.

I cringed a little whenever I watched Naniwa come out on stage pre game or post game because the crowd would boo him for no reason. On top of that , so many people B lined for the doors as soon as leenock won. what the hell? I agree. I also think that booing players is really unacceptable. I thought the starcraft community was better than that. Maybe that's one of the reasons as to why Starcraft has been so popular in Korea for many years now and not in the western world. Their culture is more about politeness and respect - as soon as it comes to us we start seeing unacceptable and disgusting things like booing a player off stage. People will have to grow up just a little more if E-sports is going to have it's great breakthrough outside of Korea. EDIT: I realize i sound very pessimistic in my post - i do not by all means accuse everyone in the starcraft community of doing those things. It just makes me sick when some people do, though. That's also because players in Korea have a lot more respect for each other and enjoy a healthy competition, it's not only about the community. In Korea there's no one like Idra, no one like LaLuSh, no one like NaNi, could go on. In Korea "BM" is just funny. Things like murloc costumes, MC dancing in the middle of the stage, nerds doing the marine dance, FBH going in the water like a madman, even the throat slash MC gave Idra that many people consider BMish was just a funny way to entice the crowd, you can just tell.
Meanwhile, you get Idra giving the finger to HuK/MC, stuff like that, in the foreigner scene. That's not healthy competition imo, this is why Korean SC is so loved. Actually, I'd be surprised to ever see NesTea again at a foreigner event, he must have been so dissapointed.
Respect in western world's competition is normally secondary to everything else, and not really a priority, in Korea, respect goes first.
Grubby and White-Ra are the icons everyone should follow, not Idra/NaNi/Lalush etc.

Incredible he beat so many top name players:
1) MVP 2) MMA 3) DRG 4) Idra 5) Huk 6) Naniwa 7) Oz
and then a bunch of lower tier (but good) players.

Fuck all of this.
Ps: Im Coming for you Fionn... You might also want to put Artosis on your list. I'm absolutely certain that he cursed Naniwa with all his hype, just as all the other promising protosses before.
You're right. I guess there is a reason why Alicia and Sage are in Code B.

Was really cheering for Naniwa in the finals but Leenock played really smart and I think he deserved this win more than any player in this tournament, given the sick run he had through the open bracket. And only 16 years old? That's just crazy!
When Naniwa's frustration and disappointment has faded I think he'll be very pleased with his achievments at Providence and I hope he'll get on the right track for future tournaments and of course the GSL Code S. A player with his kind of dedication is hard to not support!
Good games Naniwa and congratulations to Leenock!

These fast 1 base all ins are very boring and I wouldn´t have stayed up if I knew it was gonna be 3 hatch cancel cheezes.
I think it is much more entertaining and skillful when you have lots of macro to keep track on as well as maxed out and diversed armies. The skill curve goes way up the more you have to take into account and that´s why I like Naniwas longer games with sick micro/decision making.
I don´t like classic 4 gates, 6 pools/roach 1 base or bunker rushes etc because the skill of the players are much more limited since there are very fewer decisions to be made.
If say sc2 would have 8min games on averege I would never watch any matches.
You want long macro games? Tell Naniwa not to go nexus first every time.

I thought you were talking about the nani interviews, or the thumbs down thing he did to MC. o_O
With that said, sure guys will look over recent replays of guys to figure out what the heck they are doing atm too just like you see players getting feedback and intel from other players as well. It's not under the table.

Congrats to leenock! Such a sick run through rhis tounament. It seems like he took out everyone but nestea (who he beat in gsl btw). Mma, drg, mvp, huk, naniwa, idra and more. This was insanely impressive. Its hard to fathom how well he did to win this tournament.
Thank you MLG for hosting this kick ass event and thanks to fxo boss for giving leenock the chance to go to mlg.

I'm confused about the Nestea thing? Are you referring to the manufactured Naniwa drama that turned out to be a miscommunication and ended up with the two of them talking and being fine?

The booing and cheating accusations (and all the other sc2 witch hunts in the past) made me pissed. I don't watch sc2 in order to get pissed and hence, I will stick with gsl and pro league from now on. GG leenock, he's gonna be kicking a lot of asses in his future. :D

I find the booing of Naniwa to be absolutely disgusting. Disgraceful...
