just feel like this should be reposted before i get off
go go mc!
I was laughing so hard, when he did that. People flamed the shit out of naniwa for thumbs downing nestea, but wasn't as severe when MC did this. So weird
Thumbs downing is somewhat mean spirited. This is just awesome!
You do realize MC did the "thumbs down" to idra @ Columbus right?
And yet, MC is more personable and doesn't seem like as much as a raging asshole. Hm.
What raging asshole? You honestly think Naniwa did that b/c he was a raging asshole? lmao
Yes that's the difference b/w MC and Nani. MC does it in a fun way because he liked that stuff from pro wreslting. He doesn't do it seriously and is a nice guy in person.
Naniwa does it in a bm way and is not a personable guy in person. Also, his thumbs down came on the heels of calling nestea an idiot. It's about a total lack of respect for nestea that nani showed here.
Just go ask his former teammate sjow about how naniwa is in person. Sjow was interviewed by slasher on his show last week and he said he bet against naniwa in code a and made some money off it. He also said, there's tension there b/w naniwa and him and they don't get along and that he won't talk to him at providence. When slasher said nani could use a friend after his code a loss, sjow said he could find a friend on complexity. All this coming from a former teammate who would know more about naniwa than people on this forum.

on the plus side ive never been so into a match as the 2nd nestea/nani, hope tomorrow keeps these awesome games going!
lol... he beat MVP and Nestea!! id be pretty fuckin proud of myself.
yes, and if he was proud of himself without calling his competitor an idiot i dont think anyone would have had a problem with it
He didn't call his competitor an idiot. He said the choice to take all his drones off minerals was stupid.
No he didn't say that at all.. he said "I thought he was a genius, but i guess hes an idiot" he didn't say the drone move was idiotic or stupid, he labelled Nestea as an idiot.. it was totally uncalled for.
I meant his drone pull...... Not him as a person FFs I will clarify everything tomorrow.
Don't let these people get to you, this is such an important tournament!! I'm sure you already know that though

Except... He didn't. You obviously have not watched the interview.
then what was the point of him apologizing on his twitter for calling nestea an idiot?
Because he used the wrong words. English isn't his first language so using the wrong words to express oneself without understanding the full ramifications of it is understandable. He just meant that he couldn't understand what Nestea did in Game 3 and it seemed like a stupid decision. Go watch the video.
idiot in swedish is the same as idiot in english.. how is that even an excuse
i liked naniwas play though. it was really good. but kid needs some lessons in etiquette
Because swedish grammar is the same as english grammar....... oh wait
Naniwa is bm'ing and then lies about his motives. so classic naniwa, any spectator of the euro-wc3 and early sc2 scene has seen that so many times.
When nestea won against him @ blizzcon, naniwa later claimed to have "forgotten a sentry" and only due to that lose to Nestea. If you watch the replay, you will see, that his scouting was really bad and he never had the intention to build a sentry and was just greedy. he got punished ( for both, bad scouting and greed ) and frankly did not handle the situation very well at all. claiming to have "forgotten" something afterwards is so typical. It is like the smartass student showing up for the exam, having only pepared for half of the stuff that is required, just gambling and then claming he "forgot about it, otherwise he would have an A++".
Besides that, I am not even sure Naniwa would have made Nesteas way through the open bracket.
I think if you know the build of MC as Z you can counter it very easily ... I mean he had only ONE stargate and ONE robo ... and Idra did scout the robo with lings but didnt scout the stargate ... but I think he could have sacrificed an overlord to scout what his opponent is up to ... Idra couldnt really defend it because IT IS a new build
if he had good creep spread in his main and (if he knew that build what he couldnt) he could have reacted the right way but he didnt scout the stargate in time and ofc not reacted well enough ... now all Z thinks if they see a robo and then a voidray they think: "He wants me to go hydras that he can counters them with Colossi" but now there is another way to use those buildings for a drop play and if Z learns how to identify the build and counter it I think it will be no problem to do so
As fas balancing goes I think right now with this patch IT IS really balanced (mirrors excluded) there is ofc another way to make a drop play f.e. instead of stargate robo you can do 4gate robo
If it is from one base it can be scouted and be countered, if it is from 2 base it is harder to do so but that doesnt mean that now Z cant have to build their techbuildings only inside their main ... I really dont want to go into this but the main point I want to say that it can be identified and be countered and if P does FFE most Z are punishing it by playing greedy and only drone up and getting a third ... and now there is a way to punish greedy Z because I think without drop play it is not really punishable

what are the best games to watch so far?
All of HerO's games have been amazing except vs HuK
Otherwise hard to remember any memorable games.
Yeah, honestly ... I can't even remember which games I watched. Maybe it's because I was fighting a headache and trying to do homework while I was watching, but this MLG doesn't seem to be delivering in terms of games.

I take it that grammar isn't the same though? It doesn't come as naturally to you when forming sentences?
It is pretty obvious when taken into context that he was just criticizing the drone move. He even continued on to say IT made no sense. If Naniwa had just said "I thought it was a genius move but turns out it was idiotic." What a difference two words can make.

It has always been one of the best things to do to any non protoss player. It has always been done a lot situation permitting

Yes, he called him an idiot, but it was within the context of the drone pull. Have you never called someone an idiot for doing something stupid?

I miss the group stages. T.T
All the big names that I'm used to seeing at MLG have only played once. It's just weird. I miss group play as well. Only one BoxeR match? One MMA match? The format is killing this for me cause it just makes it so unmemorable.

I've heard IdrA say alot worse, so many times. And people usually laugh at that afterwards in the fanboy SotG thread.
but but but idra says it jokingly....oh wait...
I mean i dont remember the community getting all pissy when he laughed at the idea of drewbie going to korea to practice. And any time idra calls a player out as terrible all his fanboys run and agree with him.
But what it comes down to is people are going to hear what they want to hear based off of pre conceived noitions about that person.

Really all this because of a thumbs down??
They got angry at incontrol instead for being rude. People just love to jump on the bandwagon as mentioned and hit community figures.
Came in to read about the games and all i see is people talking about "none-ingame"-related stuff. WHO THE #¤%& cares ? Open up a thread about it instead. <------- (nani incident) OnT: great games today overall, but i didnt see any "epic" games. Hope it will come tomorrow. GJ mlg !

They both flew from Korea.
Some people handle jetlag better than others you know. I've flown to Korea multiple times and have never been affected by jetlag. I think it's a stretch to be thinking everyone is affected the same by jetlag.
And well I don't think Nestea does well while playing a lot in a tournament setting either. It's completely different when its game after game after game after game instead of one game a week in the GSL.

After MVP lost his Invitational match, I stopped watching and started to catch up on those Hiya vods. Those made me feel much better about TvP, until I returned and saw MC in his Murloc suit. Safe to say, looks like I didn't miss much.
