I've flown to Korea multiple times and have never been affected by jetlag. I think it's a stretch to be thinking everyone is affected the same by jetlag. And well I don't think Nestea does well while playing a lot in a tournament setting either. It's completely different when its game after game after game after game instead of one game a week in the GSL.
I'm not denying he was jetlagged, that could be the reason. What i'm saying is, he made excuses after a defeat the exact same. Most players do. Bashing one single player for it is just silly.

I've heard IdrA say alot worse, so many times. And people usually laugh at that afterwards in the fanboy SotG thread.
Show me where Idra has ever said something like that towards a top korean pro? Whenever Idra is asked about playing MC, MVP, MMA, Nestea etc.. he always said he doesn't like his chances and that he will have a hard game and will probably lose. Idra is a honest human being, he is humble and isn't cocky.. he only gets upset when he loses to players he knows he can beat. Idra is a sore loser sometimes, but he is never a sore winner.
Idra say's things out of emotion and honesty.. Either way, lets put this to rest and just look forward to tomorrows games.

In that interview, Naniwa said he wants to go back to Korea. What he did will 100% not go well with other Koreans as well, IMO.
He just made his life hard. If you are a pro, then you gotta act like a pro. I see difficult time in Korea for him.

I mean I'm not making excuses for him I just don't think that him saying he was jetlagged is just a cop out.

I honestly didn't see anything wrong with the thumbs down.. So he celebrates winning over Nestea who said he would destroy him with a thumbs down? Is it that Nestea must not be thumbed down by Naniwa? Would it have been okay if it was MvP?
And in the interview he was clearly referring to the move of the drones etc. and that he was surprised that nestea would do that because it was in his honest opinion terrible/idiotic and he wouldve though Nestea to be alot smarter than that.
About the joke tournament thing, he was pressured as he already said and lashed out cus of confusion regarding the map..
@Naniwa Wp, gl hf tmrw!

When Nestea won his first GSL IdrA said he wasn't very good. When asked about his predictions for the July vs MC finals IdrA said "MC. July is bad, MC is Protoss." He has similarly trashed Zenio.

Regardless of what Naniwa's interview meant, I have to say his attitude towards Nestea is short of some respect there. So what if you can beat him twice in 2 days? Nestea's no doubt still one of the best zergs out there and to play him it should be an honor/pleasure. Both parties should have shown mutual respect for each other. I can't remember which game was it a while ago but I think it was Stephano, he even wishes the players directly with the usual GLHF when the game starts. That shows that he respects them and in return I'm sure other players respects him as well. If you take a look at MC, even he is "oh so friendly" with idra now, with the "gl hf " and friendly chit chat before the game start. I mean he gets really pumped when he wins a game but that's just him, he just wants to entertain the crowd (Murloc ftw).
If you see other players' interviews, they don't use such strong words like idiotic and such as they do respect the opponents they face regardless of whether they are commenting on the build or the player in particular. I'm not sure if Naniwa knows the impact of his interview on Nestea/QIM but if he did, then adding the thumbs down is a little overboard.

Mr. SuperFanBoy, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

He's on coL. If he wants to go back to Korea to practice with MVP, he'll be sent back. And he's on good terms with a lot of the MVP players -- at the very least, he seems very friendly with DRG -- so I doubt they'll hate him for one case of BM that was fairly weak in any case. Seriously, a thumbs-down? MC and DRG both do much worse in the GSTL.

In fact he was public enemy #1 when he was still in Korea for a reason.

He just made his life hard. If you are a pro, then you gotta act like a pro. I see difficult time in Korea for him. Only the IM people seem to be pissed with what happened. Naniwa seems to have a pretty fun relationship with MVP guys. His twitter banter with DongRaeGu was funny as hell. Yeah, there will be some ramifications as Koreans might not take well to it (people who are not taking it into context), but I don't think it'll be as bad as you make it out to be.
You make it sound like no one will try to explain it to the IM people that they're overreacting/cannot forgive him.
|
|
Not sure how welcoming the koreans will be to Naniwa now.. IM coach had some pretty strong words towards him.

I'm a bit late to the party, but does anyone know WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED to Losira's mutalisks on tal'darim altar against MVP?
It's like they were erased from history, not even the casters remembered their presence.

Whats up with the drama about Naniwas BM towards NesTea? xD Guys ... guys CALM DOWN ... I mean his celebration and his emotions didnt really fit togather and maybe Naniwa is really bad @ expressing his feelings I mean just look at him when he first won against MVP and NesTea ... you cant really see emotions and even in his interview with Slasher was bit disappointing to people who taught that he would be flying on the 7th cloud .. He is just really bad at expressing his feelings and with that thumbs down and his posture and all he was doing was really bad but come on it is naniwa it is not like "OH NO, NANIWA SO BM" like he wasnt bm before ...

He could've done the same via checking the match history, no? Is that against the rules?

on the plus side ive never been so into a match as the 2nd nestea/nani, hope tomorrow keeps these awesome games going! lol... he beat MVP and Nestea!! id be pretty fuckin proud of myself. yes, and if he was proud of himself without calling his competitor an idiot i dont think anyone would have had a problem with it He didn't call his competitor an idiot. He said the choice to take all his drones off minerals was stupid. No he didn't say that at all.. he said "I thought he was a genius, but i guess hes an idiot" he didn't say the drone move was idiotic or stupid, he labelled Nestea as an idiot.. it was totally uncalled for. Context. Learn about context. I can take one sentence out of something and make it seem completely different from what was intended. In context he was talking about the move of the drones.
How about learn English. The drone pull cannot be an idiot; it can be an idiotic action. So regardless of the context, the wording of the statement is understood as calling Nestea an idiot.
I completely understand that Naniwa didn't mean for it to come out like that, but his original statement is absolutely calling Nestea an idiot.

Is that a big deal? I mean, build orders are revealed in the post game screen. I'm also 95% sure the casters stated they did not restart the game and they had just unpaused?

Cmon they resumed the game...
