Pretty sure it was the anti 6-8 pool. July is known to be a little cheesy and since he won game 1 he could have done it. I think thats why MC did that and would have cannon rushed had july hatch first.

First off, please don't start balance whining here.

But seriously, ghosts are needed to fight lategame zerg. Nothing else can touch BL/Infestor. And ghosts are NOT cost efficient against ultras. It takes 11 snipes to kill one, aka at least 2 ghosts.

2 ghosts = 400/200
1 ultra = 300/200

If they have no support the ultras can kill them far faster than you can snipe them.


And once you have enough ghosts, they can kill an infinity amount of ultras without losing a single ghost.
Your reasoning doesnt make any sense, because ghosts cost 2 supply while ultras cost 6.

No ultras cant kill them because zerg shouldnt be able to see them. Ghosts can snipe the overseers easily, and infestors will either get emped or just sniped aswell.
