can't even /dance roach hydras. nothing you can do! Thats why you need to creep spread your main bro, or research overlord drops, overlord speed, etc. Don't let units sneak into your main unnoticed, or have a plan to get over the forcefields. EDIT: Or Burrow + Move roaches. Yep, overlord drop is very useful against dozen of phoenixes. lol ...so go Burrow-Move roaches? Last time I checked Phoenixes are terrible against that. Nice edit. That could have worked, unless he spots it and forcefields the shit out of the burrowed roaches. ......burrowed roaches go under forcefields.

I dont know where you saw "horrible mechanics" from gatored. the only mistake was maybe when he let DRG's hydras back up the ramp (was watching his phoenixes prolly), but by that time he had already done more than enough damage.
Maybe when he was floating 1,5k minerals. I remember Elfi had also a hard time macroing when he did this build against Idra. Its a good all-in build with high skill cap, but his execution could be a lot better.

Who is Gatored and how did he beat DRG?!

beaten ppl like hero, who i think ppl have said has an extremely good vZ. beaten huk/naniwa as well.
Same reason people say Nestea has bad TvZ.
Comparatively to his other MUs his ZvP is bad. He has said it himself

Yes, Elfi did it against Idra in IEM China.. Glad to see some of you remember that. Dunno who came up with the build, but elfi definitely made it known by doing it in last IEM. That build has been around for a little while. Pretty sure I've seen white RA do it

i say that as a zerg user..
The thing is if he tried to take a third earlier he would have to either sack it, hide it, or not be able to defend the counter attack that hit his wall at the nat.

We're people upset about the extreme delay and didnt watch? Are people not as excited about the players? (I know I wasn't blown away by the pool) Opinions?
LoL usually has a very high number of viewers, couple that with IEM NY having a weak field of players and that they are squished between IPL3 and MLG it makes sense imo.

LoL always had a lot more viewers than SC2 since the big tourneys of LoL started. Yup. The only time I haven't seen LoL blow away SC2 in viewership was during IPL3 (where they were both 50-60k). Even then, LoL was ahead pretty much all the time.

LoL almost always get most viewers than Sc2, that is because LoL is a friendly/casual game while Sc2 is more heavy play/hardcore game.

Yep, but do you know what happens when there is an observer? You can shoot those burrowed roaches. Try and unburrow then. Oh, and i'm not sure if he had an obs, but should have had.

Like I said.
It's so cool to see some nice innovation from the protoss camp. These games are absolutely must see for all protoss players.

I guess wikipedia should add a new definition to all-in I mean jeez, all the Zerg want is taking all the bases, Protoss and Terran don't touch them, let them drone up to 80 and outmacro everything and that'll be fine. I mean DRG took a super quick third and drone up like crazy, while Gatored hide his x2 stargate perfectly and caught DRG completely off guard, killed off all the queens so no more larvae for quite a while. He force DRG to put up 9-10 sporcrawlers and 6-7 ovie too. That was a serious economy damage and it was smart. That's how you should play the game.
|
Gatored had some cool builds, would have been better if he executed them better. A 2-0 vs DRG would have been too epic. Oh well, still cool for him.

To be the best, you just need to win the greatest tournament. The greatest tournament (GSL) doesn't have any protosses left. So DRG's good
lol agreed. besides i think his ZvZ is his weakest matchup. In the gstl he was mainly known for his ZvT but his ZvP was considered to be very strong as well.
