amazing play by gatored, damn!

Puma 1/1/1 - noob all in cheeser.

Gatored all in - Amazing strategy

Clever all in >> standard all in

1/1/1 is no skill, boring and uncreative

This was an amazing upset, an extremely unique and creative build with a high skill cap that was really entertaining.

Also he transitioned and expanded, so it wasn't an all-in

Rofl that was totally an all-in, he didn't even try to expand until he had killed DRGs main

An all-in against a guy taking a third on shakuras and droning. That's calculated and smart. The negative stigma of "all-in" needs to go away or foreigners are never going to win shit...

An all-in is an all-in, however you slice and dice it, I'm not saying anything about it being "skilless" or "smart", just that it WAS an all-in

I know. I said as much.

My point is that an all-in was the correct response there. Your opponent expands and is building harvestors and you grab an army and kill him is a smart strategy.

Thats why you need to creep spread your main bro, or research overlord drops, overlord speed, etc.
Don't let units sneak into your main unnoticed, or have a plan to get over the forcefields.

EDIT: Or Burrow + Move roaches.

Yep, overlord drop is very useful against dozen of phoenixes. lol

...so go Burrow-Move roaches? Last time I checked Phoenixes are terrible against that.

Nice edit. That could have worked, unless he spots it and forcefields the shit out of the burrowed roaches.

......burrowed roaches go under forcefields.

If you have enough sentries, you keep forcefielding so the roaches can't come up. And the cannon fire just slowly kills them.

Who is Gatored and how did he beat DRG?!

One game DRG did an Infestor Ling Bust and failed, gatored won eventually.
Another game gatored did a warpprism play after building some pheonixes

So Ive followed other tournaments where they feature both LoL and SC2 and normally the SC2 viewership is WAY larger than LoL's, but in this case the LoL viewership is at least 3x larger (17k for sc2 and over 70k for LoL) anyone know why this is? We're people upset about the extreme delay and didnt watch? Are people not as excited about the players? (I know I wasn't blown away by the pool) Opinions?

tbh personally im not impressed at all by the players in recent IEMs, im still watching nevertheless

LOL at 2 Code S players going down to 2 NA players today.

Both the code S players are playing absolutely terrible, and their opponents are only slightly above that.

The NA players are part-timers beating full-time pros. No excuses for the Code S players. They got beat.

The NA guys have been throwing shit all over stephano performance, how does it feel to have the same thing done to you ?

Not everybody has been!
I'm NA, and I'm a huge fan of Stephano, and i'm so proud of him for his IPL 3 performance.

I'm not making any excuses, all I'm saying is that the games so far have been dire and that DRG and Killer aren't playing anywhere near the level that their capable of. Even DRG's ZvT looked in poor shape judging from the strelok series, DRG at the top of his game would have run circles around him instead of his rather mediocre performance.

Here's to hoping the quality of IEM picks up :/.

Gatored had some cool builds, would have been better if he executed them better. A 2-0 vs DRG would have been too epic. Oh well, still cool for him.

Yeah but now it was basically a 3-0 for Gatored and that is even more epic.

You know.....for all those cannons that the Protoss snuck in your main base, you deserved to lose the game at that point.

Twitch.tv should automatically save the entire broadcast. So you can watch it when they shut the stream down today.

ESL TV always adds vods of basically everything to the vod archive on their website

I guess wikipedia should add a new definition to all-in I mean jeez, all the Zerg want is taking all the bases, Protoss and Terran don't touch them, let them drone up to 80 and outmacro everything and that'll be fine. I mean DRG took a super quick third and drone up like crazy, while Gatored hide his x2 stargate perfectly and caught DRG completely off guard, killed off all the queens so no more larvae for quite a while. He force DRG to put up 9-10 sporcrawlers and 6-7 ovie too. That was a serious economy damage and it was smart. That's how you should play the game.

Even if an All-in was perfect in a given situation because the opponent was playing greedy or whatever it is still an all-in. All-in is not a dirty word.

I honestly don't care how stretched out TL is with all of their event coverage this month, I demand Gatored's head photo-shopped to Rocky Balboa's bloodied body draped in an American flag or I will post a girl blog.
