As people would say,
MVP so lousy, if he was actually best player, he should have won providence too ^^

In terms of their goal "looking back over the year to determine the best player", I can't see them not inviting MC, MMA and MKP to fill any spots that are doubled, simply because those players have the highest claim to it out of the remaining players. Coincidentally, they're also three of the next four in GSL rankings, so I think GOM will probably use those.

Fionn's going to cry because you missed Polt, who's after MMA/MC and I think did a lot better than MKP this year. (1st place + more consistent overall)

Umm, there's literally no way to describe Polt as more consistent than MKP. MKP always does well, Polt doesn't. MKP just never clinches the last few games of a tournament. He's arguably one of the most consistent high level players in the game.

By 'last few games of the tournament' do you mean Ro32? Because MKP has made it to a grand total of 5 Ro32s and even got knocked down to Code A. Polt on the other hand has only got knocked out 4 times in the Ro32 (although he played 1 more Code S season than MKP).

It's ridiculous to say that MKP is more consistent than Polt when Polt has more GSL points even though he didn't participate in the World Championship.

EDIT: And the fact that you actually claim MKP is more consistent than Polt just goes to show you how real the 'Polt Who?' meme is.

When taking only GSL results into account, MKP and Polt are pretty close consistency-wise. The fact is well represented by their GSL point standings(although I'd argue MKP is a bit ahead, Polt's GSL ranking is inflated by the 1 championship). Also, Polt has been eliminated 5 times in the Ro32 and even once in the Ro64.

When you include results outside of GSL, MKP pulls ahead by an obvious distance.

So no, it's not "ridiculous to say that MKP is more consistent than Polt".

wtf with Polt's points being inflated by 1 championship ? He won a muthafreakin' GSL, one of the harder GSL btw. Kids should show some proper respect for the champ. MKP hasnt done shit for the last ten months in the GSL. Polt undisputedly had better results, same for TOP/NaDa/Clide/Byun/sC/Bomber/Ryung (literally any terran that didnt get knocked out from ro32 in every single GSL since January) . And no dont talk about that funny 8-men world championship.

MKP got 2nd in code A as well. I'd put them about even skill and results wise. One just has way more fans and story (the yellow thing).

They said "suitable replacements will be chosen". So I doubt its just next in the line. You could also debate if its the next in GSL points or Blizzcon.
I wouldn't mind Sen, but would rather choose GSL November winner if its not MVP/Leenock.

no, not right, its being debated for 3 pages now. You can make a case for next in line in gsl points as well for next in line blizzcon, or they might just invite someone else totally. Mr. Chae will get it right.

As long as they don't give a charity invite to Idra I'll be happy. But honestly the Blizzcon spot should be given to the highest placing not-yet-qualified player of Blizzcon IMO. Also Sen is so gosu, he'd win ezpz.

i really do not think there is anyway GOMTV will invite a FIFTH zerg to the blizzard cup (unless they win one of the spots). i think they will try to balance out the races as even as possible 4/3/3. but then again, looking at how they've put the invites so far, it would really be a tragedy if they didnt give the blizzcon invite to Sen.

MVP won 2 spots, you could make a case for either passing it down to the next highest player in either the GSL or Blizzcon. I'd much rather see it go to MC or MMA, that way we'd have 1-4 in GSL points and more racial diversity.

Plus I don't think Sen holds a candle to MC or MMA.

i don't understand it, gsl will provide three players anyways, i think it's exactly the right number. gsl is the toughest tournament but i don't think it represents more than 30 % of the professional scii scene.
and you can never be sure with these zergies what they are capable of :D

The GSL players are just better, the only reason they don't dominate foreign tournaments 100% of the time is they don't get to prepare for each specific player. There's a reason 90% of code A seeds drop out in the RO32.

When I watch a tournament I want to see the best players in the world, those are the GSL players. In fact the only reason I bother to watch MLG and the like is to watch the Koreans. I feel like watching a tournament of just foreigners is like watching people fight over the position of best player in the Bronze League.
Life is too short to take it seriously.

So what I get atm is that MMA should get MC's spot if he wins tomorrow right? I don't know how m uch more point you get for Ro4, but given that MC got 330 points less than MMA for one round and only needs less than a houndred to make it, he should be fine.
If that's the case I'll cheer hard for Oz tomorrow

This needs to be bigger. Get greater collaboration with the foreign tournaments, expand that prize pool obscenely, feel free to go crazy with it.

I mostly agree. But I wouldn't compare foreigner only tournaments to bronze. That's rather harsh
