Funtime is over, start behaving in here. You all know the rules and this isn't the place for some kind of comments or discussion. Keep it to the games and keep balance, the casters and meta discussions out of here.
Pretty please, with minerals on top. |

That could be given away game from textbook, aka what not to do. I mean, if Sjow fans are happy with how he played this match....dont know what to say which will not get me banned. But hf in next round, vs some half serious opponent. Woulda shoulda coulda. Why take this win away from SjoW? The first game he just fell apart to banshee harass, 2nd game his opponent though he was funny and SjoW told him no. 3rd game SjoW beat him straight up holding off an all-innish build and trying to play a macro game. I'm proud that he didn't fold under pressure and I don't particularly like him as a player. HF being negative about someones accomplishment. I don't think anyone is taking the win away from Sjow as much as saying that Maka lost it for himself. I mean yea, Sjow managed to take advantage of Maka's overconfidence in game 2 and then won a pretty standard marine tank TvT because he had the smarts to take a hidden base and some pretty horrible marine micro from Maka. Though the main thing is Maka had the game and series wrapped up and managed to piss it away. I don't think you can argue that Maka cost himself the loss in game 2. Either way, well done Sjow and I hope Maka learns his lesson in getting too confident and comes back next code A ready play some great games. Yeah exactly. Put simply, Maka lost the match more than Sjow won it. That doesn't mean Sjow is bad, just that you can't look at these games to prove how good Sjow is. All these games proved is that Maka was dumb and played overconfident.

If he skips sleep and gets his food through infusions...maybe. MC is somehow worse than he was in GSL Open 1. And even when he was THE dominating protoss he lost to foreigners in some matches.

JYP only won that first game because JookTo screwed up again and again for example. Us toss just cant break terran and zerg anymore
is worth it to continue playing sc2? I mean PvP isn't much fun either :p

MC is still the best Protoss player in the world by some distance, Protoss is just so bad right now.

LOL? He not even needs to win MLG, he just needs to get #1 Non-CodeS Player.

Did I say he needs to win? Nope.
Right now he is far away from "#1 Non-CodeS Player", I'm sorry to say.

In addition to placing Top 3

Well look at the groups

The probablility of having an open bracket player in top 3 is kinda low, except maybe MKP who is already code S. And most of the "top 3 capable" players are already code S.
If a code S spot has to be given at MLG (ie a non code S player makes top 3) it would most likely be MC or Puma.

At least the foreigners advanced, but this GSL without MC and Alicia is going to be sad.

A win is a win; point, blank, period, regardless of how it is achieved. If you tried to present a logical argument which proves that statement false, you would be wasting your time. Anyway, congrats to Select and Sjow on their advancement in the GSL.

So who is better?
Huk won Dreamhack and Homestory sure but that was three months ago. These days he loses to all sorts of random foreigners and stays in Code S on the virtue of always picking really easy groups every season then losing to the first good player he meets.
Puzzle has won nothing at all and looks very middle of the road.
Hongun is always a laugh but he's so gimmicky and wins games mostly of the back of being unpredictable.
Genius is plain bad, he survived in Code S last season by Void Ray cheesing every game.
Naniwa has no results in months and months.
Tassadar, JYP and others are still messing about in Code A.
MC at least made the NASL and IEM finals even if it was by beating foreigners.
There's just no good Protoss players right now.
If you were to list to current best 20 players in Sc2 right now I wouldn't choose a single Protoss.

I still refuse to claim that protoss neds a buff as long as protoss players keep playing so badly... just watch hongun's and huk's performance in GSL code S ro8 or basically every game of MC right now...
its' not that they play perfect, don't make any mistakes and just lose to imbalanced stuff no they play really sloppy and haven't really improved their strategies since 1.4.2
compare this MC to the MC in NASL finals vs puma.... so protoss players CAN actually do a lot better, they just need a hero to save them like anytime or bisu in BW

Mana has also had a good run lately. Hero as well.

Wow I didn't get to watch but Sjow and Select both won. I am psyched for this season now!
I bet that Sjow would win but I feel bad that I bet against SeleCT, he is a beast when he gets into his groove.
I am bummed out over MC and Alicia though. Just a couple months ago MC was considered possibly the single best player and Alicia was an upcoming beast who managed to beat MC.
I don't like to blame stuff on balance but toss is hurting so bad. I hope they bounce back after the next patch.

When protoss is completely predictable and abusable, of course their play is gonna look shitty. They are getting raped. Protoss is just a horribly designed race.

I don't think Protoss is that much weaker than the other races [like recent results imply].

I think P is in that stage Zerg was awhile ago where they were losing and everyone was balance whining, then they started to collectively figure it out. Blizz waited a long time before doing anything, and rightly so; it turned out Z always had the tools they needed. That's why I don't get why blizz are moving so fast now, and with such big changes.
As for MC making it through MLG, I doubt it. I think he has a great chance of being the top non-Code S player, but I think the top 3 will be all Code S and the reward won't go to anyone. (that's how it works, right?)

Claiming protoss should play 'better' when it's obvious the same isn't needed as terran to get far in code s ... is dumb.
