Lol wat, Jjaki probably performed worse overall TvZ today. Check played well today, just a terrible format.

What was wrong with the format? The players went 3-1 because they deserved to. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's so hard to get into code S, but so easy to drop into code A and the only reason the format is the way it is now is just to accommodate foreigners. Bo1 is very unforgiving, too. Sure, the players who performed better won, but that doesn't mean that I can't criticize the format for what I perceive are flaws.

This format is much better imo, it should be hard to get into code S, and with this format I don't see any scrubs make it in.

But more scrubs stayed in also.

which scrubs would that be?

Like kyrix and MC.

Doesn't that prove that the new format works. Given that after 2 seasons of the new up and down format, there's only 1 scrub left in code S? (ensare)

Well what would you change bring in Group 3rd's again ? The Up/Down would be HUGE.

Code A and Code S is stupid to begin with. They should just give higher seeds to semifinalist and quarterfinalist in last tournament. Everyone should have a chance to win the whole thing in every tournament, just starting from different levels of bracket.

I like the format. Hard to get in, easy to get out. We are talking about the top 64 players in the world here. And it keeps the Code S and Code A varied every season.

or just because ZvT is not a balanced matchup.

WOAH WOAH, does Nyovne have to slap someone down after that many good games?

ZvT is ~50% win-rate for this GSL season.

inbe4 protoss

Crying aside i think the big loser of all this massive terran domination everywhere is actually GOM. They do such a great job with GSL but they have the toughest luck ever. All their finals is usually one sided and each season they are more likely to be showing TvT matches than any other and i have to think that shake a bit their viewership. =(

Very true. The poor TL-mods who probably secretly wish for an all-out balanced game the most, so they can stop mass-banning people aside....I agree that the officials at GOM will definitely also get annoyed by the overrepresentation of one race, that makes for a worse viewer-experience. I mean, even many terran players around here would agree that watching only TvT can get really exhausting.
I'm P and watching too many PvPs in a row drives me crazy.

This game could be chess but TL LR threads would still winge about imbalance because the white pieces are too shiny

it seems unfair that check didnt make it, because runner up yesterday had a 33% winrate and check today had a 50% winrate at the end, but well, obviously you need to win more than half of your games to advance into code s

I agree. Mvp was also in Code A and he beat MC so MC should go straight to Code B cuz he's worse.

how does that answer match my initial post?
All what KT currently needs is a Zerg and a second Terran

If it's harder to get in, it's easier to stay in.

Either you get persistent scrubs, or you get a constant influx+outflow of scrubs. You can't have neither.

Looking at the bright side, next season's code A will have 10 Protoss, 11 Zergs and 8 Terrans + 3 players from tomorrow's matches, which will mean at most 10 Terrans (if both MKP and Taeja end up in code A). Racial distribution in code A seems pretty balanced for next season

True to an extent, but he played TvZ vs jjakji, who has one of the best TvZ (imo) after MVP and MMA. I dunno't know any better TvZ than him, sC and MKP were at this level some times ago but not anymore.

The new format makes it easier to stay in and harder to get in, because the third place finisher in the group retains his status, while only the fourth place drops. I liked the old format because there was more rotation, which kept things interesting.

It's the best format so far . No more luck of the draw screwing great players like Leenock ending up playing a player like MVP while in the other corner b-teamers like Kyrix and Ensnare face up each other and one of them ends up in code s . Like i said this format separates the weak from the strong .

How is current code S a league, but not a tournament? Not every players get to play each other. And bracket makes it a tournament system.

I think GanZI and PuMa have a better TvZ as well. Jjakji's control is very good, amongst the best but he lacks in multi-tasking and doesn't read the game as well as some others do. With more practice against top-of-the-line Zergs he'll become mightily scary though.
