Polt, Puzzle and especially TOP have what it takes to beat NesTea, this GSL won't be as easy as the last one.
I think the second and 4th set will be the least interesting. 1 will be incredibly sick. 3 should be interesting, both players are REALLY good. I hope HuK proves me wrong with the predicitons for his game with NaDa, it's just that NaDa is far more consistent than HuK.

First was XelNaga, which nowadays is downvoted by each and every Zerg, at that time the downvote had to be saved for even worse maps. Nestea even won than game lol.
2nd map was close position on the backrock version of Shakuras (-> LOL)
3rd map was on Blistering Sands and MVP won with a 2 rax bunker rush, this was probably the most fair map in the series.
Because the last map was freaking Jungle Basin, cannot believe what kind of awful maps were used just a few months ago.
MVP won that series 3-1, but even the most die hard terran fan has to admit that this series couldn't determine the better player.
Today we will finally see the 2 best players in the world duke it out on relatively good maps (sadly it's not a bo5 or even bo7).
XNC is an ok map for ZvT, the rush distance is fairly long and there's plenty of counter attack paths.
JB is ofcourse a BS map, but NesTea had a fighting chance until he critically blundered and flew a ton of mutas over Mvp's marine ball.
Blistering is - according to IdrA - a Zerg favored map in ZvT, Shakuras 1.1 is a coinflip of either awesome Zerg map or awesome Terran map.
The maps favored Mvp, but he still was the better player in that series, NesTea often made unforced errors (such as the Muta mistake or making 4 spores against 1 banshee on Shakuras) and didn't have an answer to Mvp.
I expect Mvp to take it 2-0, mainly because he doesn't want to have to play on Tal'Darim. NesTea looked like a middle-rate Zerg in his last ZvT games against MMA, Ensnare, Happy and TOP, either losing or winning barely against opponents he should be considered a clear favorite against.
Just no....
I'll agree on Xel'naga but that's it.
I strongly doubt idra called Blistering favored for zerg. I distinctly remember him bitching about it. Hell, he lost that map narrowly to MVP himself in gsl3 because of the advantageous siege positions that terrans have over the gold on that map. Furthermore, this is one of the maps that was highly prone to the double bunker wall off. The reason we have a supply depot at the ramp now in the gsl and the reason nestea lost this one.
The fact that he even had a fighting chance against MVP on basin should be a testament to his skill. I doubt the mutas would have saved him anyway.
Yea maybe shakuras 1.1 was a coin flip, and it landed in MVP's favor with those positions.
Finally, do you even watch the gsl? He 2-0'd ensnare with mass infestors, the games were not even close. Against Happy, the game was closer than it needed to be only because nestea got too overzealous. Top played super cheesy, and it even looked like nestea would come back after losing almost everything on bel'shir. Funny thing is, he actually DID come back after losing a hatchery and a ton of drones in the next game. MMA outplayed him admittedly :/
Yeah I watch GSL LOL
IdrA often picked Blistering against Terrans early in BoX because he liked it ZvT and surprised me when he explained why on SotG (The Terran being slightly helpless against Ling/Muta styles once Z gets to 3base). You even saw IdrA act on what he said by rushing to 3base on Ling/Speedbane on that map against Mvp and getting the crap abused out of him by Mvp's sieged tanks (like he should be).
NesTea said in an interview that he played Infestors against Ensnare because he felt so helpless. Sorry but NesTea who is heralded the God of Zerg feeling helpless coming up to a match against Ensnare, whose sole accomplishment is pretty much an all-kill in Beta using Reapers, is pretty ridiculous. Yes NesTea is humble, but in reality he shouldn't even have to practice or think about BOs in order to slap a Terran of Ensnare's caliber down. Ensnare played plain wrong against the Infestor style and opened himself up to get overrun, instead of emphasizing drops & expansions.
Also TOP didn't play super cheesy LOL I urge you to take your bias-hat off and try and look at games objectively. TOP opened with a simple hellion into banshee harass-heavy into expand BO and NesTea had huge trouble holding it off. Even Line, who TOP faced then had more success against that build, maybe NesTea should check out the Dual Sight game in order to learn how to hold it ... I mean walling against Hellions with a ling WTF?
NesTea said afterwards that he didn't get any sleep the night before, but combined with his huge troubles agains Terran (83% of his losses come from Terran), that surely wasn't the only reason.
Edit: Also NesTea was never coming back on Bel'Shir, I was actually completely floored when I saw that he couldn't hold a simple bunker rush.
- You made the round of 8 pretty easily. I practiced really hard. I have fallen prey to Ensnare and San before (Code S season 2 Group stages). Back then, I didn’t practice as much, but for today, I practiced a lot because I didn’t have an answer for crevasse yet.
- In the 1st set, you showed off a zergling, infestor then later, broodlord composition. I usually use the mutalisk/baneling combination, but that did not seem to solve the problem for crevasse. So when MinSeOk suggested the infestor build, I practiced with it and saw a pretty good win rate. I feel like the harder the maps are, the more accomplished I feel when I win on it.
- Do you have any tips (for that map)? You have to pick your battles. Also, you must keep your infestors alive as long as possible and watch the minimap judiciously. If you get lazy about using your infestors, the terran will start dropping you everywhere. And if you get broken once, it is an uphill fight, so always stay on top of stopping the drops.
Irregardless, it doesn't matter whether he said it or not, Ensnare was still rolled. Could be mind games for all we know. He said he was worried about facing hongun as well before their match. Look how that turned out.
Saying 83% of his losses come from terran is also pretty meaningless. His total games lost in zvz and zvp combined only amounts to 5 and he's played way more terrans. His win rate is still 60% in zvt. We know he isn't invincible but I wouldn't say he's having trouble nor "middle-rate" in this match up. Aside from Drg there really isn't another zerg who's displayed comparable results against the better terrans out there. So, if he's middle-tier what the hell is top-tier?
Anyways, I'm done advocating for Nestea today. I've done it way too much over the past weeks in anticipation of the match and it's less than an hour away. I'll let him do the talking. Cheers.
I don't mind the casters they have tonight. I just haven't watched the GSL in a while and wanted a Tastosis fix. However the games should be pretty awesome, lots of big names.
Tastosis is going to the mlg so they wont be casting this week at all. At least we get Wolf casting today, he has at least some game knowledge unlike Doa and Moletrap. Yay for not completely ruined day!

I agree think Nada will come out on top. He is very solid imo.

Holy shit. I hope MVP v NesTea is gonna be like Artosis described. Its either gonna be crazy play and a great match or one of them has found out something and destroys the metagame and gets a 2-0 vicotry. Lets do this.
I feel like MVP is Nestea's kryptonite. Nestea will get slaughtered . He's my favorite player by far, but I think mentally he has a block against Terrans (probably from fighting MVP a lot in the team house)
Nestea Vs MVP Well the biggest game of the day for me, Nestea is well nestea but I owuldnt rule out MVP, whoever wins this has a very good chance to win the entire thing. HuK vs Nada Id normally back HuK but with the fact he seems to be on a slump, even though both tournament appearences were aborad with tavel issues I just think whith what is happneing Nada will win. Heart HuK head Nada. Puzzle vs Ryung Again a game that can go both ways, want Puzzle to win but I think this is quite an even game and a 50,50 Hongun vs July Hongun always seems to do well in GSL, but July playing well is deffiantly a force, going with July just because when he plays well he looks really good.
