What's really sad it's just how bad Puma actually played. The 1-1-1 pushes were in fact pretty bad. The first time, his first banshee was deflected with 0 kills, and he made a slightly delayed 1-1-1 with just one banshee. Usually, a well executed 1-1-1 has more units. The second time, he supply capped himself for a long time, and i saw like 3/4 marines queud in the same rax.... yet, both times, he won. I mean, what the fuck, what happens when the execution is perfect, the chances of protoss beating that push drops from 20% to 2%?

Alright if I'm getting this straight PuMa was able to beat MC when MC looked alot better back then in the NASL finals (arguably even his prime) in straight up games without the 1/1/1 but he's not a beast and I guess MC still is.

3 gate stargate and 4 gate were counters to 1/1/1 which is why it disappeared. Now VR only does 25 DPS to bunker/depot where terren is hold up teching instea of 41 DPS (with VR nerf). Now one round on units less comes to front door which is not enough to break it anymore with WG nerf.
Resurgence is due to nerfs unrelated to PvT but was to address PvP 4 gate everygame and PvZ lack of anti air imbalance but now has Terrans exploiting those nerfs.

The cause behind the whine:
MC loses because of his army being EMPed, and losing a warp prism with some templar in it, huge mistakes that are Puma outplaying him
MC snipes off drops constantly, snipes off half of Puma's production facilities, has better econ, etc. but it doesn't really matter.
For MC to get outplayed, in two seconds if his army is clumped slightly and his incredibly slow templar which clump naturally getting EMP'd. Or his army is caught out of position and his opponent runs in with a stim. While these are obviously big mistakes, MC has to constantly babysit his army, watch the warp prism, macro, and watch for drops at the same time and if any of those things falter he is screwed. Puma, on the other hand, does not get blindsided and caught out of position because his army naturally remains in a clump that fires in all directions equally well, him losing medivacs with units is kind of irrelevant, any protoss drop except half your army in warp prisms will be dealt with with the reinforcements coming from his barracks, etc.
While the matchup might not be imbalanced, it is ridiculously difficult to outplay your way to a victory as protoss v terran in those levels, whereas terran v protoss it can happen in the blink of an eye. That's why any mistake MC does is easily the reason he loses but if terran loses it's usually from sitting in 4 storms. MC's army is dependent on his supporting spellcaster and if it dies his army melts away. The terran army is enhanced greatly by ghosts but still wins without them. High templar are just the modern replacement for colossi and ghosts are the new vikings.
Name one protoss that would do better than MC in those situations. Name 20 terrans who can do the same as Puma. If you cover up the name Puma, how many other korean terrans could that have been executing the same exact thing?

The thing is there's a fine line between balance whine and balance discussion. Some people don't know how to control themselves from getting too incensed.

3/4 Top players are Toss. Interesting. First time I've seen this many Toss stacked at the top of a good tourney. Usually at least five or six Terrans in there. =P

But you know full well there's going to be a delay between problem and solution. Abusive builds have come and gone, but pros can't be blamed for using them, and so far the vast majority of them have been solved through innovation, not patches. 1-1-1 has been around since the beta. It was potent then it's more potenter now due to constant protoss nerfs. So you're taking issue with the word 'discovered', right? OK, conceded. Which nerfs in particular would you blame for this increased potency? 3 gate stargate and 4 gate were counters to 1/1/1 which is why it disappeared. Now VR only does 25 DPS to bunker/depot where terren is hold up teching instea of 41 DPS (with VR nerf). Now one round on units less comes to front door which is not enough to break it anymore with WG nerf.
I think the warp gate nerf will be undone. It didn't fix PvP at all. Didn't they nerf VR for the sake of team games?
