Will streams be paid subscriptions? 1500 seats only at the venue from what the link shows. Should be interesting how that works out :D. We will have more information on streams as the event approaches, but we will have more then 1 stream for sure. ![]() Also we will have additional seating and space in our qualifiers area, the main stage is just the theater itself. Interesting! Glad to see that the event is being organized and planned well.

the prize distribution in this seems to be really forgiving, just for making it into the to 32 you get $1000. its so worthwhile to enter, if only i was any good at the game lol

Evenly distributed prize pools are important, but grand finals that have a such a small difference in prize money between first and second place seem to take some of the competitive edge out of the games. Or maybe it just seems that way as a spectator because less is riding on the result.

I don't know what happened in between the IPL1 announcement and this moment right now, but I want this tournament to succeed. I want this to be a huge success so everyone can see how this shit is done properly. Taking it to the next level, indeed.

Obviously they will be in high demand and many of us (who would have to travel to the event) need to book ahead of time and want to make sure we don't get there and have no seats.

Koreans involved. Prize pool is well distributed to justify travel expenses. Open qualifier at the event for the great long-haul storylines. Just wish it was in California. Really looking forward to this!

And with just the basic information about IPL 3, i can tell that they will raise the bar for any live events in the future. All the other tournaments, GSL included, are going to be shown up I feel.

I think that some will be invited, but also any koreans with NA accounts can try and qualify. And I'm sure that if koreans wanted to fly out to the open bracket they could too. Basically just the same as any other NA or EU players I think edit: darn, alex beat me too it ![]()

It's evenly distributed enough for everyone who qualifies to not be disappointed, yet heavy enough on first place winnings to really make the grand final intense. Or maybe it just seems that way as a spectator because less is riding on the result. $30,000 vs $12,000 isn't a big difference to you? That's gigantic... I'd argue almost too much of a difference, but I do like how they are spreading the money to the top 32. I'd prefer this breakdown (only difference is 1st-3rd) since it's easier to understand, you still have $10,000 riding on the finals and it makes the 3rd/4th place match more interesting: 1st: $25,000 2nd: $15,000 3rd: $10,000 4th: $6,000 5th – 8th: $3,000 9th – 16th: $2,000 17th – 32nd: $1,000 I would also recommend inviting the top 8 from the previous IPL in order to make it feel like a "league" rather than completely separate events. This still allows 75% of the spots to be open to anyone. Also, props for not having boring placement matches outside the top 4! I will be watching... this is awesome IGN!
