Yeah, they've never played the format well. And MarineKing, though I'm a giant fan, has always underperformed in the Team League. Prime has some good players, they just don't do well in the GSTL.

Four GSTL seasons. 0 victories. They know how to lose with a great line-up better than any other team.


Seriously. If I was Prime, I'd send out (not in any particular order) Polt, MKP, HongUn (assuming no wrist injury), and whoever else is the strongest at the time. No fucking around. But maybe there's something about the lesser known Prime players that we're not really aware of..

I think MC is playing a little less greedy these days, though, but Polt is still really good at TvP.

You can get away with nexus first on most maps actually vs T.


I'm trying to remember how many Gateways he went after Nexus. IIRC, in a game Polt crushed him he did 1-Gate expand into Robo. Econ+Tech is about as greedy as you can get.

Nex first holds most terran aggression better than 1 gate nex, there are exceptions tho - like if you get scouted too early on smaller maps you just cant hold scv+fast concussive bunker rush, but you dont actually lose the game as long as you dont try to fight him with probes, just the nexus.... at which point you are behind, but not dead because the terran had to commit a lot of SCVs.

good idea, do that for him please, so we don't have to see him almost lose again

He's only lost once to Toss in the GSL/GSTL. That was in a game where he didn't have detection against DT's, but he almost won in a 99.9% impossible winning position. He should be sent out next if BongBong loses. Save MarineKing for last.

I find it kind of funny that MC at this point still isn't properly educated on how to handle mech play

Finding a terran player other than me who is stupid enough to try to mech on the Korean ladder is hard.

well MC is a beast, not like OGS to use their ace in first game, boviously no messing after in previous leagues and games losing when a opponent goes on a roll!!!

Well, I hate to say this, but Terrans make two mistakes in TvP:

1. They build too many Vikings
2. They don't build enough Vikings

Same for each race I guess,

Zerg:
1. You build too many drones
2. You don't build enough drones

Protoss:

Zealots versus stalkers, stalkers versus sentries. Immortals or two stalkers. You were right, every race has choices.


Colossi are a big one. Overmaking colossi can really hurt a toss.

Disappointed in this post Jinro, you should know that MC just knew the weakness to Mech (its immobility) and went around the other side. If Hannibal had afew tanks covering his flank, he would of held it and won that game convincingly. Or rather; if it was a map that only had ONE path to attack, theres no way MC could of broke out of there.

Everything has its strengths and weaknesses.. Mech is slow and immobile, but protoss has no chance breaking a mech contain like hannibal had, so MC had to go around or else lose when the slow push finally reached him.

Yeah, everything has its weaknesses and the mech weakness is big enough to make it not worth doing on 99% of maps, and if MC actually got to play people who meched regularly he would murder it so bad its not even funny.


We'll see how the future of SC2 pans out.. but considering Thorzain did well vs MC with mech, Goody does well vs protoss with mech (despite his low apm/macro).. and didnt you beat afew protoss before with mech? Its not as strong as pure marauder, sure (what else in the game is), but its a viable strat.



Thorzain was succesful with his thor oriented build. Five days after, thors were nerfed to the ground and never seen since in TvP. Forever Bio, nothing else works on a regular basis. Goody is not on par with anyone in this tournament.
