Winning is everything, but no one cares about ladder.

Naniwa's open bracket run was basically crushing a load of jobber nerds who never stood a chance (see July beating five of them in under an hour). Plus Naniwa's MLG win featured zero Koreans. the MLG Open Bracket is a joke for top players. Puma beat Dimaga, Clide, Alive, Nightend, Ret, Squirtle, July, MC. That is way harder than Naniwa's Pokebunny, Vibe, Tyler, Agh, Drewbie, Machine, Kiwikaki, Select. Any Code S Korean would take out the players Naniwa did without many problems.

It's like people who qualified for the TSL battling through 1024 men tourneys, this way of qualifying ensure that a good and deserving player will advance. btw, didn't knew about esfiworld, nice site, I like it ^^

But still the calibre of players was really high.

No, ![]() ![]() I am not good with words, but this guy is http://esfiworld.com/sc2/circuit/north-american-starleague Considering MLG's Open Bracket is double elimination and 4 people can come out from it, this is just flat out wrong. The only reason MLG's open bracket is more brutal is that there are/were approximately 60-70 more people in it, but again you're fighting for 4 spots rather than 1 and you've got double eliminations. The main issue here is the invited NASL players had been spending 9 weeks, some even having to wake up at wee-early morning hours to play and there wasn't much room to reschedule. To have someone who won a 1 week online event come in and take their prize is somewhat unappealing (for lack of a better word). But he deserved it, and it's the way the format was from the start. Players knew it. You just have to run with it. Max of 30 games over 10 weeks, not a big deal. The guys play 30+ games a day. If they did not like format they should have not put their name in NASL hat and not made video, just enter open. But that's true single elimination not 4x like darkhorse or 3x loss like MC so of course it's preferred to get a seed instead.

Got cocky and built 200 minerals worth of pylons in PuMa's base and two more outside, that's 400 minerals that could have been used for an expo. Basically not poor MC, poor play by MC. Remember his weakness: overconfidence. Sure he had a better shot playing standard but he went a little crazy thus he deserved to lose. Hopefully he learns from mistakes.

I'm not trolling, I'm asking. I mean, I don't see him in the players list, I didn't watch every game, but really an invite won the tournament right? Ironic, right? Anyways, the NASL finals and entire tournament was amazing. Gretorp is an amazing caster imo, one of the 3 analytical casters besides artosis and idra. You guys did amazing! I usually hate TvP too, but these were great games.

No the last minute invite was aLive (who still placed 2nd in the open bracket, he didnt get an invite out of nowhere) and he lost on first round to darkforce. Puma was the winner of the open bracket, which was stacked like crazy.
