Labels are stupid. Even when the label is a nationality.

We're all human beings and we all deserve the right to flame NASL relentlessly.

Enough said.

You can't just make up your own rules.

TLO is not a Swede, Dirk Nowitzki is not American, Lionel Messi is not Spanish.

I'm not making up my own rules. The people who run the tournament decided that Huk, Idra, Haypro, Ret, etc count as Korean. I think they're more qualified than you or I to judge what soemthing means in the context of starcraft.

No, they decided that Huk, Haypro, Ret and Idra played on the korean server and could therefore not participate in qualification

Thank you, I was about to reply the same thing.

Select and Moonan were allowed to play in the qualifiers because they are Koreans playing on the North American server.

Akash just defeated his own argument. >_<

Yes but Huk's success should be credited to him living in korea... Huk is the only real foreign pro gamer because hes living with the oGs crew and practicing like them, the koreans are a level above everyone else not because they are genetically better, but rather they are better because of the way they live and practice to be a pro gamer.

Oh yes, I 100% agree. Huk's practice environment in the oGs house definitely is the primary factor for the success of this Canadian in the Korean scene and in Europe.

He is also quite talented. He won the first MLG. He was working hard long before he went to Korea. The Korean training environment merely allowed this hard working, talented, Canadian/American to flourish.

i KNEW it. I even bet my close friend that the day HuK won anything substantial (Dreamhack), I knew foreigners would suddenly say he's NOT Korean. For months now, people used HuK as the argument for why Korean training didn't necessarily mean superiority and whenever there was a Koreans vs Foreigners argument, HuK was at the center of attention as an argument as to why Koreans were not better (aka. HuK was considered KOREAN).

Now that HuK has won two tournaments, now the foreigners are embracing him again. Hahahahaha, so ridiculous. Completely laughable.

Can you really use Messi as an example? I'd argue not because Argentina's football regiment is already very rigorous (unlike NA SC2 regiment vs Korean SC2). You could say Messi is Spanish trained, but at the end of the day, the Argentinian regiment he went through before going to Spain was already pretty intense, and going to Spain only built on what he had. Was HuK always amazing? That's debatable, but when he went to Korea he was hardly owning it up, it wasn't until he spent time training under the Korean regiment that he became as good as he has become lately. So to reiterate, I don't think your argument applies.

I bet with my friend as soon as HuK or Jinro won anything, people would consider them Foreigners again, I was right. Why are foreigners so desperate to have a "champion" that they can call "foreign" when the player themself has already considered themself Korean (like Jinro and HuK have openly admitted).

I love you. For saying my exact thoughts.

I think these are people who think genetics and talants go hand and hand. Yes they may but practice out weighs talant by so much. Often the most talanted can sometimes practice the least.

In English speaking countries, sometimes words are used to mean things other than their literal definition. May be it's different in Germany.

How do you call a Korean being eligible to play for Korea in a Starcraft II nationwar?

Korean?

That meaning overrides your meaning applied to people not from Korea currently living in Korea.

TLO is not a Swede, Dirk Nowitzki is not American, Lionel Messi is not Spanish.

The same word can mean different things in different contexts.

Well, there's still a proper way to refer to people.

I believe you would object when I would call you a Haitian. Because you're not.

My apologies if you're actually from Haiti, even though the chances are slim. haha
