Select and Moonan were allowed to play in the qualifiers because they are Koreans playing on the North American server. Akash just defeated his own argument. >_< How does that defeat my argument? Select and Moonan don't live//train in Korea so they wouldn't be considered Korean and obviously they would be able to participate. My whole point is that in starcraft the term "Korean" has nothing to do with nationality; bringing up Select or Moonan doesn't make sense.

Luckily, there is no need to use these words ambiguously, because we have perfectly acceptable alternatives, denoting both the nationality of a player, and the server he plays on. Huk is a Canadian playing on the Korean server. My sentence is much clearer than your sentence and provides more information. Hence, I'd consider it the better, and more correct way to talk about a player.
