In what normal sports do the casters bash what they are representing? That doesn't happen.

Right and they don't do it in the middle of the broadcast - look how professional all the casters are in every single broadcast, even when things are shitting the bed. It's not Homestory Cup, it's not a lan with a stream, MLG always presents itself at super high level of professionalism no matter what happens with stream crashes etc.

Well, that's your opinion. In the end, it was a really pointless thing to kick him for, and MLG only bites them selves in the ass by doing stuff like this.

I don't think you're taking the right angle of approach here. MLG clearly wants to advance their organization to a position of repute in the public eye; they want outside viewers who look at their product to be able to take it seriously, and for it to stand on its own legs. While most broadcast commentators certainly crack jokes from time to time, they never do it at the expense of their parent organization.

The difference here is that you are thinking about a niche market where everyone understands the inside jokes and relationships between people and organizations. Mainstream sponsors dont understand it, dont care and only care about how their image is presented to mainstream.

To respond to Kennigit, I don't think that's 100% true.
The market those sponsors are aiming for is exactly the market that doesn't really care about such words, so what does it matter :p.
