Oh come one... They are cheering for Huk winning, not MC losing. And the opposite generally happens in Korea (Koreans cheering for Koreans). What's so hard to understand about that?

At least you often see units beyond Tier 1... so what if you cannot set the pace of the game all the time? If anything in TvT the pace of the game shifts a hell of a lot more than PvP. There are these things called counterattacks which are unheard of to majority of protoss players, e.g.
