Hmmm asked for 1024 players and could only get 128 to sign up? LAME! What happened to all the people who played in last weeks qualifier?

Rules say it was a 256 man tournament (I know that differs from binary beast's setup) but either way I imagine all the Koreans signing up scared away a lot of the masters/diamonds/plats that signed up for the open. You are going to have to be a beast to make it through this bracket.

I think that when you are below very top master, you don't play such a tournament to win anyway. Actually, being mid-high master, i'm playing cups to get the opportunity to play good players.

Whatever. Don't you find it strange, every tournament where koreans take part online there are only one or two teams sending lots of players (here oGs and ST, in iCCupWeekly NsHS, ZeNEX and TSL, ZeNEX alone in TLOpen) ??

I think the players from teams have to get permission from their team leader / coach to play, so while all the players want to play, different coaches may say yes or no, so you get one or two teams having lots of players sign up.

How does that even make sense if these brackets were seeded on ELO?

Yeah you are right, sorry my bad. I just looked at the ELO page there are some players there higher than I thought they would be (and some lower). Weird that MKP is only 15th in ELO.

If only the top4 is guaranteed a spot in the NASL, how is the rest of the players decided? except those seeded from season 1 ofc

The way I understand it,

34 come from the previous season
Top 8 from the open tournament
Top 4 of the qualifier tournament

This makes 46 players for next season. Naniwa dropped out, so they get their desired 45.

Should be more turnover imo. Still so many bad players in NASL while tons of sick players won't be getting in through this.

Anyone in the NASL who is "bad" will eventually get weeded out as the competition continues. Every play in the league is good though >_>!

Well relatively speaking of course :p Oh well in time I guess. Just seems too slow given how much turnover there is in the upper echelons of players.

Alicia, polt and mkp are 3 of the top 7 players in terms of elo though... unless you didnt weight korean vs international because korean is obviously higher.

For example, mma is 2331 internationally and 2081 in korea
MC 2370, 2193
Idra 2251, 2082
Top 2232, 2153
Marineking, 2225, 2100
July 2223, 2071
Ace 2274, 1940
If you took international elo as equal to korean elo thats terrible. And if you took international elo instead of korean elo thats even worse because the sample sizes for the koreans are way smaller. Theres no rational way the brackets should end up like they did.

They only people above Mkp in elo in this tournament are:
Polt
ogsTheSTC
SC
Alicia
Top
Ryung.

So how are polt alicia and mkp together?

He obviously used international ELO thinking this is an international tournament

it was a terrible decision regardless though, because international ELO is a terrible terrible metric which is incredibly inflated by terrible players in stuff like Go4SC cups and other random tournaments, and has almost no sample size to draw from for the Koreans whatsoever...

they took the international elo because this is an international tournament... there's very few foreigners with a korean elo to begin with so how would that make sense

Well how would you recommend it? You can't just say International ELO is a terrible idea. Provide a solution then on how they could've done it. IMO they did the best considering how hard it is to get fair brackets.

If others are unhappy with it they should do better in foreign tournaments, no?
