Some of the Games he played at Dreamhack Groupstages are pretty epic. Replays should be available on the Dreamhack HP. Don't know what tournament it was but i remember a games vs Sarens that went for like 1,5 hours untill Sarens lost his cool and basically suidcided into Goody's tankline.

Korean's have to play at 2am? What?

Why wouldn't they start it a couple of hours earlier? Then the times are reasonable for everyone...unless you live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

3 hours earlier:
10am East Coast
7am West Coast
4pm CEST
11pm Korean

How does that even make sense if these brackets were seeded on ELO?

Seeded top32 based on ELO and random after that oo~

So, why are you lying to us? It is clear that that isn't the case. Please show us the list of top 32 players you used for seeding.

I think it's legit. It's just that binarybeast automatic seeding places seeded players in different places than we normally have come to expect from the millions of online sc2 cups.

These are geeks. 2 AM is a damn sight more reasonable than 7 AM.

That seeding makes about zero sense. The games get progressively easier from 1st seed up until 16th seed.

Agreed, so many top players are getting knocked in the early stages.

IF and thats a big IF Goody can somehow get past Fruitdealer he has a solid Chance of getting in again. I don't know anyone he could meet in RO32 then he'll probably meet Supernova and after that probably sC. Goody has the most anoying TvT-playstyle known to man-kind and TvT is by far his best MU. And considering he has a small connection advantage over Koreans he could do it .

Not sure if the Koreans are ready for long drawn-out TvT-Series against the "Panzergeneral".

Now I'm curious: what exactly is his style of TvT? The only thing I know about Goody is that he has a relatively low APM ...

Sitting back , with solid defense slowly building up a big tank force while constantly harrasing with Blueflame Helions everywhere and slowly working towards a split Map with Turrets and 3-3 Mech / Vikings if needed. Goody isn't going to attack you unless he knows he'll win for sure.but it's pretty hard next to impossible to attack him as well. He basically will wait for his opponent to make a mistake. He's known for hour long TvT Games where Maps are basically mined out and no major engagements happen for ages. Goody's not going to blink first he'll patiently wait for his opponent to make a move and then capitalize on his mistakes.

Ah, thanks. That actually sounds pretty hilarious/epic, if very, very frustrating to play against. Any recommended games?

While I haven't watched nearly as much of Goody's TvT as I would have liked, his TvZ series against Nestea in TSL3 was friggen unbelievable and the final game of that series is one of the few that I've watched more than three times:

http://www.pokerstrategytsl3.com/vods

But yeah he's a really fun player to watch especially if you get tired of seeing terran bioballs.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Using the Korean ELO for an international tournament (and arbitrarily deducting numbers from the International ELO to make it "even") is one of the dumbest thing I've recently heard.

Xeris obviously did the right thing by using the International ELO. It rewards the Korean players who have participated in previous international tournaments.

It also created false seedings that made the tournament and NASL overall worse in term of player quality.

People were going to complain no matter what seeding system he used, he picked one and stuck to it.

lol the seeding doesn't guarantee that the "best" players don't run into each other until the end, considering "best" is arbitrary.

Serena Williams may be the best female Tennis Player but she's unranked because she hasn't been playing on the WTA (or any tennis for that matter). Xeris appropriately used a system designed for international play and stuck with it.

I think an alternative would have been to combine International/Korean ELOs with no inflation deduction, that's just too arbitrary. But I'm okay with the system used.

Some people really just like to complain.

oh, no; some great players instead of the the alleged absolute best players will qualify. this is inhumane.

the people who win with what they're given will qualify. such is life.

There seems to be different seeding options. This is a 16 player example of "traditional seeding".

Still not how most sc2 cups are seeded. But I don't think it makes too much of a difference in the end.

None of the s class players are seeded except maybe mkp? And goody and nerchio get top seeds because they beat randoms in go4sc2 weeklys? That sounds smart to you? None of the foreigners in this event deserve to be seeded. Goody showed how terrible he was last nasl. And you cant say its an international tournament, lets use international elo herpderp. Because omg, the koreans dont play in international events, but they do play in the nasl. It would be like the olympics seeding basketball teams by how well the players in the spanish league played.

Do you really think goody is better than polt? Or Alicia? Or Check? Or SC? Or MMA? Or Heart? Or cella? Or anyone on ogs or zenex? He's not, and it takes insane amounts of stupidity to think this seeding was done remotely well. They couldnt even get brackets right with the seeding they used

Agreed, even with the lag, most korean are still superior to the foreign counterparts. NASL just keeps on disappointing me.

An international tournament is seeded by international ELO. Who would have thought that? Some people just complain to complain.

If you want to be upset with someone be upset with the Koreans who have not been participating in more online/offline international tournaments. They're the only one to blame for their low international ELO.
