Zerg.267 is Korean Terran Player SlayerSRyung? Didn't Catz already change his ID to coLCatZ? Iunno, it'd be cool if they were the actual players, but like a lot of euros and koreans pointed out, it's difficult when you have to play your matches at odd times (however Xeris did say most of the euros were playing at like 8-11pm their time, which shouldn't be a problem for a progamer so iunno what naniwa was talking about). Anywayyy.

Where do you see those times? I only see those times listed for the Open tournament, not the Season 2 Qualifier tournament. Or are you assuming that those same times will apply? Xeris, can you confirm that the same times are used for the qualifier tournament? Also is there any way you can be more flexible with the times/schedule... so that you know, you can allow North Americans a shot at participating in the North American Star League. Those times are perfect for Europeans, and still even better for Koreans than NA. Edit: Also... any word on seeding?

Besides manual seeding of top players, are you going to seed the rest of the bracket on ladder rank? Seeding is always better than no seeding where an objective ratings system exists, particularly when it's single elim :-)

So you can update your official site with the official rules/dates/times instead of having to make us guess? Don't "obviously" the dates are different, the current dates on the site are wrong even for the Open tournament. And can you comment on scheduling flexibility? Your times are extremely unreasonable for a north american tournament. You can make the argument that if you can't make the times then you won't be able to make the times for the regular season, but it's completely different because the regular season is once a week, this qualifier tournament is every single day for a week. And what does "top players will be seeded" mean? Ladder rank? TLPD ELO? Xeris' personal discretion? Why can't you have important rules for pay-to-play tournament decided and clearly stated before you hold the tournament?

I think the NA has great talent pool, just not enough to fill out 50 spots of elite players.

Many top players would be full-time gamers if they had financial support and they might be able to get financial support if their name was going to be front ant center in a big league such as the NASL. However, the NASL participation comes first, the big team signing comes second and the change to being a pro-gamer comes last. NASL has asked players to do things backwards and I think this might encourage irresponsibility on the part of potential pro-gamers.

I get and appreciate that the 1pm time does discourage the participation of people who are not currently "pro-gamers", however I think this is misguided. NASL is effectively suggesting in this logic that a person should quit their current job before interviewing for another job. NASL has asked players to do things backwards and I think this might encourage irresponsibility on the part of potential pro-gamers. That's right. Nony explained it one time on state of the game ![]() You become a progamer not by quitting everything and training 24/7 suddenly. You become a progamer by putting all of your free time into gaming without dropping anything else. If you can compete with the best players despite not being full time, you might want to consider going "all-in." And I think NASL should adjust itself to follow the words of tyler, as this is the north AMERICAN star league and tyler is everything that is American. So I think that discouraging non full time players from north america, this is kind of nasl shooting itself in the foot

And what does "top players will be seeded" mean? Ladder rank? TLPD ELO? Xeris' personal discretion? Why can't you have important rules for pay-to-play tournament decided and clearly stated before you hold the tournament? A) I've already commented on scheduling flexibility. If your opponent agrees to a reschedule (NOTE: this means, playing later in the day, not moving it to a different day) that's fine with me. However, you must note that there are two days where multiple rounds are being played. So obviously you can't postpone your Ro256 game by several hours because that will delay the Ro128 game. Makes sense? B) I'm kinda confused as to what you mean "update the site with rules/dates/times"? The Open is listed on the front page, starting Wednesday at 1pm EDT.... which is when the tournament starts. The (Open) tournament on BinaryBeast shows as starting Wednesday June 22nd, the rules say that the Ro256 (of the Open Tournament) is played Wednesday June 22nd @ 1pm EDT. Can you elaborate on where the dates are wrong? C) Top players won't play each other in the beginning rounds of the tournament. I'll probably use TLPD ELO, but it's not 100%. I'm not really sure how this concerns you or anyone else. The important concern is: top players knocking each other out in Round 1-2... I've stated that this won't happen. Explaining how exactly the players are seeded doesn't really seem to be relevant. But, when possible, I'll use TLPD ELO to help. Overall, I'm not entirely sure what your criticisms are... because I feel like everything has been answered before. But of course, if you have any questions you can always email me at xeris@nasl.tv . I answer questions practically 24/7 on my email.
