ZvZ is BroodWar is constantly referred to as a coin flip.
Thanks! First time I saw it, I was like, "What is that?!"

Idra is goddamn good when it comes to standard play. You mean Idra is goddam good when it comes to being predictable? yeah, I totally agree, since his BW days that's always been his main problem Agree, what's with all these people saying his play is "standard"? Only standard openings are "good" because... well, since they're standard, it means they're probably the best opening. Now, standard strategies? That's different because by then you can get scouted and are just predictable. You're mapped out if you can only play standard, no matter how good you are, since there will be no surprises. The only reason why Idra is "good" is because he has decent macro, and that's it. While I definitely agree that Idra needs to mix it up strategy wise, I think it's pretty silly to say his macro is only "decent." He has world class macro, and I firmly believe he has the potential to be the best player in the world if his strategies were up to par.

No. It's a single elimination 16 player bracket.

Damn, that's pretty lame. Would suck for the players that fly 10+ hour flights to possible only play 2 games of starcraft and then fly back home.

lol that coin must have "Zenio" on both sides

Can someone explain the NASL finals format to me? Does this mean that IdrA is 100% eliminated?

hahaha, awesome!
Does anyone know if whitera made it through, last i heard he was on the brink. He lost a few no-shows b/c of scheduling issues, so i hope that didnt ruin his playoff chances, he's my favorite for the tournament.

He's in the finals. He's playing select in round 1.

5 Koreans out of 16 so far, that's pretty impressive considering the latency.

When Idra learns to vary his strats maybe he'll stop losing so often to "coinflips". what? it was 100% a coinflip. if you think otherwise, you need to go study the ZvZ match up, then rewatch the game. Wrong. It's only a coinflip when all possible openings are equally likely to be used by Idra. If you know the guy is doing the same thing every time, it's no longer a coinflip. It's similar to how if I know that some guy always plays Rock first in RPS, I'll be playing Paper. Of course, he can meta-game me by playing Scissor first, but Idra is either incapable of or unwilling to consider such a simple concept. what? its not as if idra goes for infestor at the exact same time every game, therefore its a coin flip that he will be able to do enough damage before infestor come out.
why are you talking about openings? Openings have NOTHING to do with this....

He couldn't have had a reasonable amount of infestors out with the proper upgrades at that time, with the amount of roaches he was making.
Again, this is like calling Jaedong vs Stork G2 Katrina a "coin flip" because Jaedong used a specific timing window.

Funny thing is, that NASL was the main reason for Idra to go back home. And now a Korean kicks him out. Oh the irony.

The last stat is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Agree wholeheartedly. Don't forget the horrific playing times too, doubt they are playing their best at 4am even if they prepared for it.
