Okay we're going to start cracking down on people bashing players for no reason. You don't have to like every player, but at least show some respect. (as of page 402)

Its odd that when people discuss koreans vs foreigners, that all of the koreans do play sc2 FOR A LIVING, while the majority of foreigners play sc2 AS A HOBBIE. The difference in results needs no other explanation imo.

Not true at all, tons of foreigners play SC2 for a living

Tons? Might be exaggerating your numbers man. Correct choice of words here is "few"

And the small number of foreigners that do play sc2 full-time and are fortunate to make a living off of it...I would say that not many of them are in gaming houses run by coaches in which they play against other high level players in a private setting.

since people are already well off topic i guess it can't hurt to ask... are there many decent counter strike tournaments anymore? i'd quite like to watch one sometime

wow not looking good for Liquid. All their players are on the same branch of the loser's bracket. They'll be teamkilling each other all the way.

Also, Incontrol and Machine could meet as well lol.

Bragging rights? It's not a fair competition. You have pro Korean players who can make a living off of competing in the game...they can afford to practice 60+ hrs a week in gaming houses with several other similarly skilled teammates and coaches overseeing everything. The majority of non-Korean "pros" aren't ableto do the same. Practice and hard work is everything.

IMO the Koreans aren't dominating enough, they shouldn't lose a game EVER.

^lol you clearly do not understand the game very well. Even IDRA said that there it is very difficult to completely dominate the game as a player with near perfect consistency. And yet, the Koreans are showing that they are a cut above the rest. Don't be mad at me be mad at the stats

Korea fighting!!!!!!

yea but you're a fool. It's cool that you are a proud Korean but your arrogance is off-putting. It's like watching Brock Lesnar beat the crap out of a young heavyweight with far less experience in mma and rubbing in the inevitable beat down in everyone's faces.

Koreans aren't better because of their ethnicity...they aren't special outside of their great and fortunate environment that they are exposed to. If Non-Koreans could afford team houses and to be able to practice 60+ hrs a week then there would be ZERO difference in skill.

holy shit, you'd be a buzzkill to watch the olympics with

Until someone can show me a report where it proves that Koreans have some kind of unique gene specific to their ethnicity that makes them better than non-Koreans at playing sc2 (hand speed/multi-tasking/reaction time) than the skill gap between them and others around the world is due to a unique environment. Starcraft is huge in South Korea. It is big money over there thus Koreans can grow up practicing because being a pro gamer is a more viable career than anywhere else in the world. The more hours you put into something the better you become generally speaking. They say it takes 10,000 hrs till someone becomes an expert in whatever endeavor they undertake. I guarantee you that on average Koreans are closer to that mark then their foreign colleagues. Being able to practice for far more hours with similarly excellently skilled players will make you better on average than those who don't. This is all common sense. So all the denial and gloating is foolish.

You're so dumb. No, Koreans are not genetically superior at StarCraft. The vast majority of people do not claim this.

Yes, Koreans tend to do better because of more practice. So what's your point? You could say "If I practiced chess/Counterstrike/archery/whatever as much as the top competitors, I would be a top competitor!" What does that even prove? It just means other put in the time and you don't. Saying they practice more doesn't take away from them being better.

the genetics argument has already been solved by this MLG tourney, koreans that come from GSL and train in korea are superior than koreans who don't (aka select, moonan, kawaiirice). so it is not about genetics, it is about environment. if koreans were genetically better, then select moonana and kawaii should be tearing it up but they're not, so its not genetics, its environment

Its really not halo's pretty much at the level of bw with the level of mechanics at the top.

level of bw mechanics? someone call the doctor!

LOLOLOL troll or insane?

I facepalmed so hard. Same level as BW?
Someone hasn't ever played BW.

Halo is one of the slower shooters around. And do not even get me started on the multitasking differences between the two.

He could kinda have an argument with CS 1.6 or something... The calibre of players at the top was insane but... Halo? Sorry no dice.

Even then i'd say BW is harder.
Infact the more i think about it, way harder.

I agree with you entirely, yes.

1.6 had some insane players. I remember when fatal1ty joined a pro counter strike team and was removed because, well he just could not stop shooting his own team mates.

Any FPS where you spawn with a full kit is a joke. I see these guys playing capture the flag and I'm thinking... Whats the point if a defender is going to spawn at any second with a full kit?

the only thing this tournament proved is that only idra (maybe slush too, because he beat moon but moon isn't code a/s) can compete with the top koreans which is something we already knew from past GSL's.

the rest of north america is extremely overrated (kiwikaki for instance) and can't compare with the koreans and the top europeans.

Idra and maybe Slush? Extremely odd that you picked Slush as the only other player that can compete lol..considering there are dozens of foreign players that are better than him.

i mentioned slush because i was mainly talking about the north american players. he was the only one that didn't lose to a top korean (he beat moon who isn't really top but didn't have a chance to play the others).

I'm going to assume QXC is currently losing his shit at TLO for quitting the game without an official ruling? Just realizing it 5-6 mins into the game after things were not looking so good for you? Even if it weren't an angle, why would you quit without getting an official ruling?

Im gonna bet you're wrong

I'm not exactly an expert in halo or anything but from the very little I watched it's one of the slowest FPS's I've ever seen.

Ever play counter-strike lol? Halo is on steroids compared to CS

Other then seting up the strat, its a really fast pace game? where people die almost instantly and 1 guy can ace a team in under 5 seconds?

after what like 5 10 minutes of them jsut moving around hideing behind walls throwing random nades they hope for luck wins? name any moment ever in halo when things arn't happening?
