KR players are hindered in participating in EU tourneys because of the massive lag, and they have problems playing in NA tourneys because of lag (not as bad as KR-EU though) and the timezones (they often have to play early in the morning).

MW/CoD4 is generally considered to be the best one, although they're all fairly similar. You have to take them for what they are -- casual, fun, social FPSes. Yeah, PC fanboys love to bash on the series, but they're pretty ignorable and unimportant.
