The groups are done being moved for the next stage, matches are being scheduled right now and will take some time for the thousands of matches to be created.

Lol, I kinda stopped caring about this after the first week. Got forfeited 2 times and didn't advance, despite being by far the best player in the group.

Protip, Tournament organizers, don't stretch your shit over the entire summer. People are travelling and partying, it's extremely easy to forget a match and be knocked out.

Especially if you're going to have a qualifying stage for the qualifier for the qualifying stage (yes, that's right), let me play 7 bo3s in one day please? It would have only taken 3 hours tops, which is far less than what TL open usually takes.

Admins are top notch though, awesome guys :O

Here's my thoughts, take it or leave it.

If you missed a match, then you kind of deserve to not move on. If you cared enough about it in the first place you would have marked it somewhere so you could make it. it's different for those people who were traveling and such, but you knew what dates you'd be traveling on (most likely), so you could have tried to reschedule. Sometimes there are sacrifices you have to make, sometimes there are not. It's hard to organize an event that has over 10,000 participants (like, the scale is ridiculous in its own right). Those who showed up should be rewarded for their time, those who showed up and won should be rewarded for their skill.

Anyway, that part of the tournament is now over, and there isn't much that can be done about it. This next part to the qualifier should be a lot more of a challenge, but there are more opportunities to prove yourself. c: c: c:

If you missed a match, then you kind of deserve to not move on.

So, I should be punished because my ISP decided to have their first issue of the year on a match day?

Not being able to play the match or reschedule in any circumstance would get you forfeited from any tournament anyway, you're not being victimized.

Edit: Was first in my group couldn't make the last match, hadn't lost yet. Despite this I was told that b/c I had a FFL I would not advance. Ironically, one of my opponents who did advance above me couldn't play at the time of his match, and I gave him a reschedule, had I forced him to FF he would've been the exact same score as me.

Guess that's what I get for being accommodating.

Two quick things:

1) Record/standings from the first stage don't matter for the second stage, everyone will be reset once all the groups are finalized.

2) There are some groups that haven't been moved yet because of borderline cases, I can't list them all here but people should be done getting moved "shortly"

Okay, now it is fair and clear.

I like the league format generally, but the organizers should have been more prepared for a situation like this, where there will be a mass of inactive players and forfeits, along with the league distribution as well.

hey!!! im in your group!
this time is gonna be a hard qualification >.<

Hey man we are playing on Thursday, see you then.

Wow, if what people are saying about not advancing because of a FFL, that's down-right bull.
I worked to get top 2 in my group and now I don't advance because I have 1 FFL. Seriously, why don't they just disqualify you right away. I practiced for a few hours to win my last match and to clench 2nd place and now I don't qualify because I was an hour late for my match.

Good tourney.

Ok it is only a few people who are ranting about not advancing because of FFL which is just outright obvious that FFL must account for the disqualification.

The whole point of the complaint was, you have a less chance of advancing beyond the qualifers phase, because many people had fewer wins because of the removed people in the group due to inactivity, so basically 99% of the group had people with 7 wins, and people with 6 wins or 5 wins without any losses.

Anyways, this was fixed as CEVO admins clarified that the record from preliminary phase will be cleared and won't be carried over.

Im liking this tournament. The people are fun to play, but this 2 games in one day thing isnt going to well. its hard to prep for the game when you have 2 diff people to play against and even worse diff races...

Now while I'm not going to go over the exact way players are ranked I will say the complaints about "just a FFL disqualifying me" is overstated. With well over 1000 groups there were many groups with ties between 2nd and 3rd place if you were just looking at Wins/losses. In these cases we had tiebreakers to determine who should move on. One of the tiebreakers was FFL but its not the only factor. Fact of the mater is no one was disqualified 'just' because they had a FFL, plenty of people moved on with FFL's if they were clearly above the other players in their group in other ways.

Um, I'm confused about the VODs, might be a small error in the upload

(Spoilers about Jinro vs ZeNexCore)
+ Show Spoiler +
Set 3 is just an upload of Set 1, even though the series is tied 1-1 (jinro winning set 1, core set 2)

3 people moved on from my group, I think. I was just clicking around the website wondering which of the other two high ranked players in my group went on, and both of them have new groups and extra matches. To be fair, there were 3 people at 6-1 in my group, but that's a weird way to deal with a close group to me.

Kind of made me wonder if there were some groups with only one player who showed up for games or something.
