This tournament had so much potential, with so great players.

Now you hear hardly anything when they are only VODs, no updates here. And when you look for yourself, you find out that about half of the matches are forfeited .

I don't get why the player pool is so diverse, with such a long tournament format, only for 1800k... I wouldnt be surprised if there are alot of walk overs in this tourney

EGMachine has been ignoring me for the past 4 days as I try to reschedule a match with him. This is really weird behaviour, as I PM'ed him on teamliquid, started a match thread on geforce and messaged him when he was online on battle.net. He has simply ignored all of these, probably hoping to get a free win.

I messaged an admin about this, as I'm not sure what to do, but I just wanted to show this unsportsmanlike behavior here.

I really respected and liked Machine before, but this situation is really weird.

just found this out and we are rescheduling it now, too bad you dont respect me >.<

I kind of feel sorry for the CEVO staff that have to sift through this thread with so many people who don't read, or just want to vent. Nobody is perfect, and for their first SC2 tournament ever, I think they're doing a pretty damn good job (it's not their fault if people FF). They have some interesting ideas for online tournaments that will probably be improved upon in the future, and personally, I'm excited about it.

You guys are doing a great job! And thanks for the standings legend Ellis. :D

If I had online thumbs.. I'd be using them: "eeeeey"!

To CEVO Ellis,
I still have a question to be answered.
Is switching a race allowed?
I know for many of other tournament, you have to play with the registered race, but I don't see any rules regarding the race on the tournament rule page (I have missed it, I need a confirmation).

I was sort of disappointed that in my group I only got to play 3 matches due to the 4 players who dropped out of the tournament.

However, it's always a nice feeling to be 6 - 1 in your pool play.

All in all, the tournament is being run very smoothly in my opinion. Even the way the admins on vent help with handing out DNS's was really, really well done.

Kudos to the CEVO staff for doing this so well for their first tournament. Hopefully the rest of it goes as smoothly as the preliminary group play.

Ok I have a question does anyone know the tiebreaking format in the amateur group play... the situation is this ... The best player in the group (ladder wise masters) will end up 6-1 with a forfeit loss... I am facing a guy this Sunday who could advance who is 6-0 (gold) with the forfeit win over the best player... I am pretty sure I can beat the guy who is 6-0 this Sunday but I am 5-1 because the guy actually showed up for my match, I lost 2-0. Basically I am just wondering how does the tiebreaking scenario work if we are all 6-1... do I need to 2-0 the guy or will 2-1 be enough, or am I screwed either way?

There are no rules restricting race switching

Kinda goes to show you how really motivational and driven the public SC community really is.

I expected it though. In NA, there's over 9000 (!!!!) signups. I'm very certain there's no more than 2-3 thousand players in NA who are actually in masters league and above, so most players will see their opponent's rank and go, "well this is pointless QQ" and give up without a fight.

They just removed 3 people from my group for being inactive, this actually makes me happy :D

Though the game I was suppose to play today was cancelled... Oh well, more practice time.

You guys are doing a great job, I couldn't imagine it would be easy managing 9000+ players. I accidentally reported a win for the wrong match and it was immediately corrected, within 30 minutes quick, I was impressed. Thanks for the tournament =)

found out we are supposed to play games on taiwan/korean server etc.. and EU.

Don't have accounts on every server on bnet Geforce!

So I lose this round and I guess I won't be playing any more. Really shitty format.

Yea, the real tournament starts at the tournament phase. Then it will become just like a survivor's tournament.

Okay, I'm really nervous about advancing.
My group stands like this:

Top Player = 6 Wins 1 Loss
Me = 5 Wins 2 Loss
Other Player = 5 Wins 2 Losses

Who's the top 2 in my group?

You were made aware of this 2 weeks ago by email and on our website, you were also given 3 different ways to contact admins of the event if you needed anything. Not once did you contact us about this. There are several other players, all pros, who have been able to contact myself or other support for the event and get match times changed and sever issues resolved.

Judging by that, the 2nd place spot in my group is tied, except for the fact that the person who's tied with me has had a bigger streak. I'm sure streak doesn't matter, right?
