That means that you missed one of your games and you were disqualified

I think he means none of his opponents showed up. Pretty sure (positive in fact) that you don't get disqualified for missing one match.

The formula consists of three components: number of wins, win percentage, and the strength of schedule which is based on averaging the win percentage of each of a given Player's opponents minus the Match between the Player and that opponent. Each Player's CPI rating and relative rank will be viewable during the preliminary phases on the standings page. Too bad we dont get access to this ![]()

Do we know when the next groups will be posted? Also do the scores reset for this next round? Or do we carry our current W/L record with us?

I'm sure it works for tournaments where everyone shows up consistently, but it makes for weird quirks with a lot of no-shows. For instance my friends group: He had a forefit loss to start the tournament (against a player who never showed up for any games,) then only played one more game (which he won 2-0), and got forefit wins every other game. The guy who won the group got to play two games, and took a FFL against my friend. Because the group winner decided to take the FFL, and had an additional win, he won the tiebreaker even with an identical record and the head-to-head loss. The weird tie-breaks created a situation for the group leader where he could clinch the group by simply not showing up to his match because he had one less person forfeit against him. One would think that if you had identical or better records than everyone in the group and had beaten everyone in the group who actually participated in the tournament you would win the group, but apparently you get punished for your opponents not showing up.

1. Wht does the number left of the player name in the standings table indicate? 2. Wht does R+ mean? 3. Wht does R- mean? 4. Wht does RD mean? 5. Wht does S mean?

In my group, there have been two people who have gone 5/2 overall. However, one had more actual game-played wins then the other and is thus ranked higher. It sucks, but I think your overall score is hurt if your opponent doesn't show up to get stomped. EDIT: This next round of games should be better, as we should hopefully have shed all the inactive players.

so many people are going to get screwed if they count FFW and FFL for people that were DQ'd

Thanks for tht, im guessing the number to the left of the player name in the standings is overall rank as i cant see any repeats in the standings. (That would make me no.1 in the european amatuer group :D )

The original post laid out the format but it also said groups would have 12 people and 2 would advance and it seem every group had 6 people so I'm not sure if it's accurate as it seems their format has changed.

Qualifying Phase - Group Play Format - 256 Groups of 10 players (9 rounds of play) - North America: 245 groups - Europe: 9 groups - Asia: 2 groups - Top 2 players from each group advances to next phase - Two matches per play day, two play days per week (4 total matches per week) - All matches are played at 8 PM or 10 PM Regional Time Round 1: Thursday, July 21 @ 8 PM Round 2: Thursday, July 21 @ 10 PM Round 3: Sunday, July 24 @ 8 PM Round 4: Sunday, July 24 @ 10 PM Round 5: Thursday, July 28 @ 8 PM Round 6: Thursday, July 28 @ 10 PM Round 7: Sunday, July 31 @ 8 PM Round 8: Sunday, July 31 @ 10 PM Round 9: Thursday, August 4 @ 8 PM So, if they want to keep with that schedule new groups should be out within two days (I would really hope so). This schedule looks a whole lot more rigorous than the previous one. But, it should still be fun to play c: I'm excited to get to play more games and hopefully see how I compare to the better players left in the tourny. Best of luck everyone! EDIT: Just realized that I'll be out of town for one of those weekends ;_; I hope it doesn't hurt my play too much
