WHO The Clash of the Houses tournament series visited 8 Korean professional gaming houses and pitted teammate against teammate to determine 8 house Representatives.
hnnnnnng whoever wins we all win with what are sure to be great games! gogo July and MKP! I wish I was going to Columbus, its gonna be sick good, and I really wish more than one of these guys could make it!

Looking forward to seeing some terran/zergs.
ehh are you mixing something up? you probably mean IEM, where Ace won.
but there also was dreamhack where MC won.
i can't remember a offline tournament where koreans didn't do good,
Isn't MKP scheduled to play his GSL match tomorrow? How would he fly to Columbus and play his GSL match? I don't actually know the results or even if these matches have already been played, but I do not see how this is possible.

Either way, I'm cheering for MKP.
MKP's next GSL match isn't until next Monday, which means he could still go to MLG and then come back in time

Top and Inca didn't do too well at DreamHack Winter 2010, but other than that you are right.
Waaat, this is sooo cool!! I've been watching a bit of the house battles but now the final day is obviously gonna be the most hyped. Looking at some of the names still left blows my mind. Can you imagine a player like MKP a 3 time finalist from the GSL, the man who controls each marine individually come to the MLG? Julyzerg will also be sick but I wasn't around during BW so can't feel it. Really hope MKP will win tbh, he seems like a super fun dude and arguably the strongest player that is left. Would be so rediculous for him to attend. Fighting!!

Oh, that makes sense then.
But will he be back by Monday? If he's playing in MLG until Sunday night eastern time, that's already Monday morning in Korea.

Really hoping that MKP just wins SOMETHING at this point, even if it is an 8 man tournament for the chance to enter a tournament. The guy has been at the top of everything for the longest time now, appearing in so many finals and semifinals, being a clear ace on his team, and showing great games all the while. Best of luck to MKP!
Plz spoil the winner ... i cant wait to see who is going to be in MLG open bracket. But I believe whoever wins, the CotH bracket should be much tougher than MLG open bracket
On June 02 2011 08:53 Devolved wrote: I have a feeling Columbus MLG is going to be a lot like SC:BW WCG's...an all-Korean finals.
you mean an all korean semi's?
Well, there were only 3 Koreans in the BW WCG's so that was impossible and I doubt it will happen at MLG either. They will probably knock each other out at some point and I'm guessing either 1 or 2 will get knocked out by foreigners.
Whoever can win this has a pretty good shot at taking MLG as a whole. I'm thinking July, MKP or Taeja (never know what SlayerS members can pull off) + Show Spoiler +
i want MKP to take it so bad, i want him to come to MLG and just STEAM roll everyone. the kid needs a fucking win, even if it's a foreigner tournament.
What the hack Junwi had more workers same amount of bases and ggs because he lost one battle. K it was one of the bigger ones but I think if he would have known how many workers Killer had he wouldn't have given up.
Nice games, nice idea but casters are not really calling right stuff. For example, when July was building 3rd and San moved out, they were saying: "Oh, he should cancel the hatch...". Thats what San wants, and July should defend.
On June 02 2011 10:27 Gescom wrote: Metalopolis becomes real hard for Zerg at that point in the game because there's such a lack of open area for a half decent concave to fight in.
While that may be somewhat true for roach//hydra or speedling builds, infestors and brood lords shine when armies are clumped up. July did not play to zerg's strengths on that map. The whole game plan (especially the mutas) just felt very thrown together.
On June 02 2011 10:27 Kamais_Ookin wrote: Now I know why there's so little viewers, fucking observer. Time for NASL!
But the games are so much better here =)
Great macro game between July & San, the obs didn't seem to be able to keep up unfortunately which is a shame since not enough Toss are willing to do things like split off small groups of blink stalkers to harass like San was doing that game etc.
On June 02 2011 10:29 WwA-Ace wrote: July was really playing a losing game from the moment he lost his mutas, how does somebody like July make a mistake like that?
Hahah, it was especially funny that the casters were praising his multi-tasking at the same times as he was making that colossal error.

It would have been much cooler if he didn't kill his zealot without killing the observer though.
The more I think about it, the more I think that is the best PvP I've ever seen, and one of my favorite games ever, if only the rest of the series was just as interesting.

Just have to put this out there. Has anyone else noticed how clear cut Slayers Terrans are... Ganzi beating MVP (before he was pretty mediocre), MMA always kicking ass, and now Taeja who was also a mediocre player completely outplaying marineking... This is no coincidence. Boxer and the slayers training regimin must be insane for taking what appear to be mediocre players, and then putting them on the level of MVP within a few months... It's pretty unreal IMO.

im still sad MVP lost (( but I think you're right, they just find good strats for certain opponents, they study them. not just "play randomly".

It shows how much of an influence training has on your results. They all play such a solid game.
I rarely comment on the casters, but that was quite horrible predictions....Both of them thought july had won the game when he was 20 supply behind the protoss
I'm surprised more people aren't watching! I suspect a lot of people don't even know what this is. I'm a little surprised that the commentators thought that the protoss was about to GG though. (I'm apparently double surprised... or just tired!)

He dropped a second cannon & pylon and added a gateway.
At first it looked like his second cannon (placed after he noticed) was also blocking the Nexus, but as it turned out it didn't block (I misjudged the distance).
This game is a great example of why I don't like these new GSL maps. Long and drawn out for absolutely no reason; we could have see the same thing in half the time on a smaller map with little difference, people just wouldn't have been floating 5k minerals.

what the hell are you talking about?
So instead of a action packed TvT with both players playing amazingling with constant multi front attacks, that you don't know who will win until the very end, you want to see a 2 base timing that finishes the game at the 10min mark?

You wouldn't have seen the same thing because both sides would have gone for one base timing attacks since small maps nullify the long travel distance that defenders need for an advantage.
Yeah those six TvTs in last night's GSL broadcast were all terrible games. Let's switch back to Steppes of War and Incineration Zone as soon as possible please...
GuineaPig seems to have really good Protoss macro, evening up that supply and staying even on economy despite that awful engagement earlier and losing mulitple Nexuses to snipes.

The tournament was spoiled ages ago. Thus the "Don't Spoiler" at the top of the thread.
Why does it keep giving me colonial Williamsberg ads? Does it really think that that is a relevant advertisement for a male age 20-30 Starcraft audience?

How funny would that be if he came here, and people just started walking up to him, not saying anything and hugging him? He'd end up thinking it was normal American culture and try to hug other Americans.
Can you guys keep an updated bracket or results spoiler in the OP? It's kinda hard for people just tuning in to figure out who's still in it and who's out.

I shit you not, I order a case of their root beer about once every two months.

I'm definitely considering test driving and possibly buying a Harley Davidson. These adds are spot on.
While I really love Taeja's playstyle and skills, I consider having a surplus of 2000 vespene at the end of the game unacceptable at this level. He either needed to expand again to get more production facilities, or take workers off gas to maintain balance. Or he could have started pumping out Ravens to get some PDDs / seekers / extra firepower.
This observer really is very bad. Other than that, this tourney has been really awesome. Looking forward to seeing July winning MLG...oops, didn't mean to spoil MLG :x
Oh my goodness!!!! what a ridiculous finish! I can't believe taeja left that early, I think he still had the ability to attempt a base race with that many marines....

the observer was failing pretty bad..those marines supposedly got taken down by banelings. We didnt get to see it.
although the observer was kinda bad... and i rarely criticize, but its true.... I am fucking pumped to see July in the OPEN bracket. I so jealous of the randoms who get to play him in a BO3, thats so cool!!

Banelings killed those marines apparently, according one of the announcers. Obs didnt catch it :/

great games, awesome tournament. a seriously epic tournament, 4-5 hours a day is awesome. i agree that the observer did not seem up to the task at times.
