The difference is the mindset between the two players.
When fruitdealer lost his 4th base he didn't retake it until after he realized he isn't winning the game easily. He had BroodLords AND a roach ball and with this total map dominance did not bother to take a 5th or 6th base. He didn't even bother to shat creep over the enemy's expansions. FD was playing for the BroodLord push, he had no plans post-BL push. He didn't even use that excess gas to make a mass of burrowable versatile infestors, instead he made panic-speedlings/spines, which ultimately mineral-starved him
When Ace saw the BroodLord push he immediately moved to secure additional bases for a base-trade scenario. He moves his whole army up and around the top, knowing that if he sweeps FD's expansions, he has a chance of victory, especially since he killed the spire and has trump voidrays. He sunk all his excess gas into high templar, because in any low econ situation, caster units are good to have
Ace played for the long term advantage, FD played for the immediate advantage. This difference was the game. GG
his 4rth got sniped 2 or 3 times by a small force of stalkers + zealots
which is ridiculous considering FD had enough minerals saved up to throw down 30 spine crawlers (not that that's a good idea) at his 4th base to make sure it never gets messed with again. He just thought he won at one point, so he didn't bother to really secure additional bases
