This without considering BW has always been a much more competitive environment, and that MVP went to code A, very uncharacteristic of a Bonjwa.
So no, he's not there yet, and he's not closing it yet either. Be it Bonjwa or whatever word you want to use.

I can see why people would throw around the B word when describing him. they are all "ex-BW" players but their top forms are like years ago. the players right now in BW are currently are on a different level. MVP should be peaking in BW had he not switched. It's reasonable to assume so with his improved game before the switch and qualifying for starleague
That's pretty true. He was uping his game quite fast right before the switch.

There were only ~9 lings across the side of the map and he already had 1 tank and a bunker at his expansion to defend. The amount of banes/lings Xigua used to try his 2nd attempt at busting the push would have died if MVP left his units at the Zerg natural. Afterwards, MVP was really just toying with Xigua who couldn't handle his drop harass at all - why else would you bother to make 3 nukes (which requires that many academies) and 25+ cloaked ghosts? Fun game to watch but Xigua was nowhere close. I agree. He should've/could've ended it, but decided to make a spectacle of poor Xingua in front of a packed Korean crowd. To me, it's kind of BM to pull back and wait to rape someone like he did, embarrassing him like a little child who knew no better. He was clearly not playing on MVP's level, and MVP should've had the courtesy to win gracefully like the champ he is. No MVP puleld back because of the flanking Zerglings. He(MVP was in no position to finish the game that quickly) He made the right call, he already had made enough damage

Why do I get the feeling that, while the first posts about MVP being bonjwa were "serious", people who are saying it now are just trolling you guys?

Did you not read all the complaints about MVP not playing out a long macro game for the finals? He did it because he knew he could win and figured he'd put on a show. Would people have rathered him win in 8 minutes?

A big reason why many of the old guards are so hesitant to label someone bonjwa is because the game is still too new. Bonjwa was first used as a nickname for JulyZerg, and this was a couple years into the game (read: more than one). The game has not equilibriated itself yet, and patches are still far too frequent, compared to BW. Aside from that fact, if we were to give ForGG as much time as Mvp, we would see a much greater level of dominance.
NaDa, BoxeR, and July had their bonjwa terms years ago (save July, never a true bonjwa). They all do not practice with the same relentless drive as they did back in BW. They're also much older than Mvp, and do not have the same availability of time as Mvp.

Didn't John the Translator say that bonjwa doesn't mean in Korean what the TL community means when they use it? I remember him saying once that bonjwa is just something a person says about themselves, as in "I am a good player".
Yeah, he said the west put too much value on the title bonjwa. The zerg that shall not be named is the only bonjwa bw actually had, Flash is god.

Game of imperfect information. Mvp did not see the lings you can see with full map vision so he had to make a guess of how large the counter attack could be. Better safe then sorry is what he decided to do and in this instance he might have been able to keep pushing.

MVP went to Code A once, and got to the Code A finals and back into Code S immediately. Even Flash gets knocked out of OSL/MSL early sometimes.
