Seems that most of the good players have switched over to sc2 (moon, grubby, lyn etc.), perhaps some of those will give it a shot in both games? Can't imagine it would take much practice for them to have a shot in wc3 since they are maintaining their rts skill anyway. there will be about 8 topclass wc3 players i think. all the chinese players and some koreans (remind, focus, lucifer...) are still playing. + Nicker who moved to China i think and also Grubby will participate i guess. So yeah it will the competetion will still be pretty decent

I have heard this as well, and I was actually going to put them on the "not competing" list but all I had was one article from an Australian eSports site and it wasn't clear enough. Furthermore, it's not explicitly made clear on the xLan site and in the past, this organization has been good about letting players pay their own way if they wish in the past so I'd prefer not to throw the towel in just yet unless I see a quote from an xLan staffer or a something.

yep, just waiting on information from them, Austria is done by the same organization as Germany and Switzerland and their website is pretty slick http://www.wcg-europe.com/at.htm

updated information on Finland and India, cleaned up some websites and stuff.

Why no Canada??? That really disappoints me! I think we have a strong enough amount of players to put together a solid team... HuK, SLush, KiWiKaKi and TT1 ... at least enough for a possibly solid performance!

There will be Canada, just no qualifier announced yet.

thank you, added.

I live in Korea, can I actually go and watch?

So I browsed the threads but couldn't figure out who actually ended up qualifying for Sweden. Could you enlighten me?
Edit: Or rather, who are the final bunch who will play at dreamhack summer to qualify for Sweden?

yep, usually you have to pay though, they put ticket information up maybe like a month before the event or something

LaLush and MorroW, I'm not going to put results in this thread until the national finals are over but I linked to another thread about the qualifier.

This is rather weird. A lot of countries that were usually up on the qualifier list, aren't now. How come?

since my last post I added some info on qualifiers in UAE and Taiwan, I'm referring to them as Chinese Taipei as that's what WCG does, not as a political statement. I was also slightly unclear if SC2 was confirmed or not, I don't read Chinese so if you do, would you mind clicking that facebook link i give in the OP and seeing what all those videos are about.

a lot of them are still doing backstage organizing as the grand finals is a couple of months later than usual this year.

yeah, Spain lost their organizer in 2009 and got another one in 2010 but so far I've seen no hint of activity from them, not much I can say about that.

I don't know where you got that number but it probably won't be too much, BW in 2010 had about $10,000 prize pool

Ukraine is specifically mentioned in the first post, I don't have any information on that national organizer at all.

Warcraft 3 had the same as BW last year. All of the official 1v1 games did.
