Why are people fighting about who the better player is?

If ThorZain is the better player, then good for him! He's better than MC now!

If MC is the better player, ThorZain still beat him. Victory went to ThorZain because he played brilliantly, not because MC failed some all in or something. These were macro games and everything about it was awesome.

It doesn't matter who's better. ThorZain won, we are allowed to celebrate his win. Stop trying to take away the awesomeness of his win.

Uhm, the way he completely just threw away game 4? He had it won before he went into Mcs main and sacrificed like 6-8 medivacs and his entire army for 2 pylons and a dark shrine. Pretty humongous blunder imo.


That's not apart of his "build" that was in question here. That was a strategic decision.

Yes he lost in a series 3-2, but can you honestly say Thorzain can take 2 GSL titles? his TvT is something around 65%. MC has the best PvP in the world. 1 series is not a determinant of who's "better"

That's one example of bad decision-making, but with that as the proof of "clearly the better player" I still can't see it, I need more explaining to understand.

How can someone be "clearly the better player" if they make several strategic blunders?

OTHER THAN THEM. God, how many times do I need to rewrite that? His micro/macro etc were better. His builds, upgrade timing etc were not at all.


Sorry, I did miss that part. In that case it's kind of a poor way to put it, why not say that Thorzain had much better builds and upgrades while MC had better micro/macro? That seems less likely to draw fire from the internet and doesn't take away from Thorzain's ability as a player.

Thorzain came up with great builds, I'm not taking anything from him. However I haven't found his mechanics notable (not bad, just not notable) so I don't know how he'll hold up once people adapt. In particular how will he do against people who upgrade early and don't respond badly to funky builds?

Protoss still didnt figure a way to deal efficiently with heavy thor build, yeah there are several possible ways to deal with it, but everyone seems to have a possible way and everytime there is a game with heavy thor composition usually you see something different from the protoss usually failing. It's strange why terrans dont use that more often.


So go and watch the copenhagen tournament and you have your Kas vs MC serie.

I don't know if he would do as well as MC considering i can't predict events 8 months in the future if all those circumstances occurred. Thorzain is fantastic though and i wish he would go to Korea to compete because he deserves a chance in the GSL. I would argue that the better player is not relative to one certain match up though on one day.

dunno why all the hate is going to Thorzain...regardless of who is "better player" or not, the kid played brilliantly in the match sets and in the end status has nothing to do with it. Kid deserves respect, he earned it
