Its really interesting to read threads like this. Koreans are plain and simply losing often to Europeans, yet no one is willing to admit it. Maybe a year from now once its normal, people will accept European equality?

Question is: can they repeat their results on LAN? So far, nope. Way to come out of your shell when a Korean loses to bait a Europe vs Korea war that is unnecessary.

Great series, still would consider MC the better player overall though. Win % in mirror match ups are very different, and MC does have 2 GSL titles.

Who is the better overall player?....

MC was the the player with more past success.
And I think that ThorZaIN was the better prepared player.

But I believe that if we ask this question a few months from now, i think it's more likely that we will say ThorZaIN was the better player overall. :-D

I disagree

He simply got outplayed with a fourth close game. That's it, it's not that hard to understand.

Kas will rape Thorzain, Thorzain has great TvP while Kas has great everything.

Kas against MC now in finals on Khaldors stream and Kas isnt looking nowhere near as good as Thorzain did in TLS.
Although i do believe that Kas TvT is better than Thorzains.

Stop overhyping players who have done nearly nothing that completely underhyped players (MKP, Polt) have done as well. The pro-foreigner bias is crazy.

Guy loses 3-2 in extremely hard fought back-and-forth series, is "clearly the better player". Love it!

Other than the strategic blunders, yes. How do you think it was a close series despite those blunders?

How can someone be "clearly the better player" if they make several strategic blunders?

OTHER THAN THEM. God, how many times do I need to rewrite that? His micro/macro etc were better. His builds, upgrade timing etc were not at all.

I fail to see how his macro was better.

Even if Thorzain (or MC) won 3-0, just one series isn't enough to prove who is the better player.

Anyway, Naniwa v Thorzain finals incoming!

If you never try you never know. Sase - Mana - TLO - WhiteRa - Naniwa - Sheth - HuK

This is no insult to Thorzain. His builds are excellent. His execution is not notable however.

In what ways did the execution falter?

Uhm, the way he completely just threw away game 4? He had it won before he went into Mcs main and sacrificed like 6-8 medivacs and his entire army for 2 pylons and a dark shrine. Pretty humongous blunder imo.

I'm surprised he didn't all-in at all the whole series and still managed to win 2 games.

I fail to see how his macro was better.

Expanded earlier, equal on supply while teching HT, won the only real macro game.

You'd think Voidrays would be the counter to that Thor strategy, but Thorzain had a whole bunch of Vikings out too. I have no idea how to stop that build. Thor/Strike Cannon/repair + blue flame Hellions + Vikings shut down all the Protoss counter compositions that I can think of. If the Terran throws in a Raven, it's even worse with detection and PDD.

Now I'm obviously not a top player, but I've seen a lot of pros lose to this build too. It's extremely strong. I'm not sure why Terrans don't use it more.
Remember, always be yourself. Unless you suck.

Exactly, MKP 3-2ed MC too, with none of the ridiculous fanfare.

What ridiculous fanfare?

Are you not reading the thread?

Also, Polt beat MC TvP too. This is just the latest in his "lose to random terrans" tour.

Can we just appreciate what Thorzain has done? Idk how many of you guys followed BW, but things like this just did not happen. Foreigners beating a top Korean? Otherworldly for us old BW fans.

Exactly this. It sickens me the whining and excuses we have sometimes. People even tried to blame lag until they realised he was playing in Europe.

Mad props to Thorzain. Europe's best kept secret until now <3

lol...foreigners beat top Koreans quite a lot during the beginning of BW, as anyone who is aware of even a modicum of BW history knows.
