There goes my liquibet. He didn't really choke. He was outplayed. He kinda did. Didn't have a good response to the early pressure.
Well yes, he didn't respond very well, that's true. But to me it just looked like violet studied Ace's play style very well so he knew exactly how to counter it.

I predict Ace wins NASL, but never qualifies for GSL again. lol

Who's the lady in the banner?
Also, turn off GSL Code A from "ON AIR", it's over now.

Incredible multitasking in Game 1 and again in Game 2 (this time even showing that he can overcome a better build just by pure multitasking and mechanics alone) - In relation to the above point, Lure was actually not that bad. He just took a risky double expand in Game 1 and lost to a better player in Game 2. About Min : in the GSTL I remember Cella saying they only fielded him once because he was too nervous. I'm pretty sure it was the case today too (as his reaction after the win suggest, that was very emotional) About the MVP marine build : it's a natural evolution of the matchup. In the recent period of protoss domination vs terran, most terrans were doing one rax expo, adding one or 2 rax, a fast factory and a fast starport while adding one reactor and 2 techlabs on the raxes (most usual case). This created a situation where the protoss had some very good possible aggressive timings (even with only 3 gate robo, and more with 6 gate sentry push). Long story short, now most terrans are adding 3 naked raxes after the 1 rax expo, allowing them to produce a LOT of rines so they can be safe in early game, and this changed the matchup quite a bit, now Ts have a strongest (or at least equal) early game. Not that no stim no shield marine are great against protoss, but just because the pure amount of "stuff". In that game, MVP was a bit greedy by pushing to Lure's base (and missing his bunker timing completely, lost him like 5 scvs), but with unupgraded marines vs stalkers you don't have a choice if you go too far out of your base. (if you retreat the stalkers will kill them one by one, same if you hold position, so you just have to go) Comparing the supply is tricky, because MVP only has 1 food marines at that point. TLDR : this build allows a very safe 1 rax expand. MVP delayed his stim a little too long imo still.

A very good day for zerg player and even if i'm terran i enjoyed the match of today. Not the best one but a good level in general.

zerg fightinggggggggg!
also, gogogo mvp.

Nice to see alot of zerg advancing. I still love the GSL so much. Code A and S :D

Glad TheBest and August (such a long surviving but marginal player in the GSL) are gone. Ace once again, I have no idea what's going on . At least some zergs made it through to the Round of 16 though.

Great preview and LR thread keep it up pdd

Poor Ganzi is the only person in SlayerS who didn't make it past their first round matches. 7 out of 8 SlayerS making it past their first round matches is pretty damn impressive. they're kicking some ass this GSL.
edit: Oh, Brown still has yet to play.

It's easy to realize that your opponent has an expansion when no matter how hard you hurt his army when he has a LOT more stuff than what he *should* be able to afford.
But in truth--starsense baby! (folks like Flash or Jaedong coming to SC2 is scary not because of APM or micro or macro or multitask--if you think MVP has good starsense then you haven't watched enough Flash games)

It was probably to counter possible proxy pylons. This is similar to how MKP beat MC in the world championship. We can see how the terran strategy is evolving. I thought MVP made all the good choices in the early encounters, and his use of dropships to buy time was a very good choice considering the air was uncontested.

If you watch the games MVP basically scouted nexuses that were just being made or just finished building, it wasn't one of those "oh, where are you getting all these units from". I'm guessing MVP probably knew that the only way this guy would win he would have to try something sneaky against him, so he took proper the precautions.

Well Mvp has always had this sort of starsense thing. The game in gsl jan finals against mkp on meta where he scouted the hidden expo comes to mind.

just checking around the map doesn't cost you anything, but if he laid down like a random scan on a hidden darkshrine I'd call that starsense

Haha I am watching the vods and it sounded like doa said "he brought a big can of rape" and for a minute I was like oO. (He said big can of raid).
