Yesterday's broadcast has had its issues. We all saw it. There are 10+ pages of whining. There is an entirely new cast going on now. Please keep whining about issues experienced yesterday to yourself going forward in the thread and allow other people to enjoy the games. |

Someone explain please Nothing even close to being remotely offensive, just slightly bad taste, some people are too sensitive to anything, I recommend them not trying Mortal Kombat 9 or The Witcher 2. Ya, it really disgusts me how sensitive so many people are on TL. This has to be the most uptight group of people I have ever interacted with.

Wow, viewer count down to 2K
whoops, nevermind, just spiked like crazy.
Yay!

I didn't find the WCF tht offensive tbh but it just wasn't funny at all and very immature.

They are going to reair the Cloud/PU series right now.

Should be a very, very good RPG. Comes out in May or June.

Chill guys
Really what is happening to our community? Everyone seems to expect the world with out contributing shit... Since when did gamers start acting like soccer moms at a PTA meeting?

Unfortunately any Sen vs. Idra match would have to be played Asia to US. Still, it will happen this NASL.

I think Sen recently finished an university semester so he can focus 100% of his energy on Starcraft 2 at the moment
someone correct me if I'm wrong

Regarding what incontrol says on SotG.
When you're the face of a 400k International SC2 League, you can no longer enjoy the luxury of choosing when you should be taken serious, and when your comments can be considered to be jokes.
It's all or nothing.
I think he realizes this now, and has adjusted accordingly.

Good to hear! As someone who bought a pass I have been plenty satisfied. There have been some pretty big issues, but it seems like you guys have acted quickly to resolve all of them.
A related question, ill the VODs be up for the missed games any time soon? Would really appreciate if they could be give priority.

I just thought it was annoying and unfunny, I think most would agree. Doesn't have anything to do with being sensitive, it was just stupid.

Sensitivity disgusts you?
Ironic.

Looks like the stream is back up (at least, it's playing music) so that means Painuser's games are coming up?

I have to imagine a ton of you are Day9 fans and follow him on a twitter. He encodes stuff daily and how many times do we see him saying there was issues with editing / encoding and you give this production crew crap for one mistake when it's the first time they have worked together? I can understand the fustration if you spend money and hype this event has, but have you even done any major video editing or production yourself. I help produce a show for nearly 6 months and I couldn't even come close to what these guys are doing week 1. It WILL improve it takes time to get the noobie mistakes out of the way and trust me when it comes to editing and encoding you make a TON of mistakes.

I will say, I love the SC1 music soooooo much Great Choice Sound guys :D

1. I am WAY against the humor displayed in that show during the intermission. I will speak on behalf of it being removed from future broadcasts.
2. This was a mistake. It's really really bad. I know the NASL is upset about it and will fix it. There is no way to go back in time.. but please know we are sorry.
3. Maps were updated. There is no legitimate argument for using the outdated maps. That too was a mistake overlooked by not consulting the pro players of the squad (me and gretorp). It has been rectified.
Some inside info:
The NASL isn't a bustling studio of 30 people. It's 5 production people and 2 commentators. We are hiring out professional help for the sound (after the problems) we consult pro's on the stage etc... but we are not some huge broadcasting company. When people say "mistakes like this shouldn't happen.. you need to watch for mistakes!" They do. They do the best they can. A lot of these guys are running off of 4 or less hours a night. Encoding, editing, doing graphics etc.. all each day after this schedule. Do they want your sympathy? No. No they do not. Do they expect better results than what we have produced? MORE THAN YOU KNOW. Nobody is more pissed than Russ and co after each mistake.
This is the first week. None of them came from a broadcasting / league background. All of them are chasing a dream and trying to do it to the best of their abilities. When we make mistakes please tell us with all of this in mind. If you STILL feel the need to say "FIRE X" or "THIS IS FUCKING TERRIBLE" then I guess go ahead and do that.
I get to wake up in the same house as these people and watch them go at it for another 16 hours each day.
It is absolutely unacceptable to make these mistakes and they will not be made continuously. As they happen they get fixed asap. In the end it makes us better. We were never planning on 1 season so we have time to fix these things. Ideally, would they never have happened? OF COURSE. Is it possible to have caught these faster? CERTAINLY. But we didn't and we are sorry. Please understand the sheer effort and work that is going into this. This league is growing and it has growing pains. It also has amateur mistakes and huge errors. All of which will be sorted out as they come up.
I'm sure most everyone appreciates the honesty, accountability and full disclosure, but for paying customers, I don't think reading about how the production team has little experience in broadcasting tournaments is a good thing. I think most people are learning some hard lessons from MLG and NASL. Don't pay for a product until you know what the product is. Please stop. I really get annoyed with all this extremist language. It's not even the end of the first week yet and people are STILL getting top quality games. yes there are issues but they are being fixed as fast as they can (usually the next day). I really get annoyed when people assume 25$ is wasted because the first week wasn't perfect. iNcontroL, you strike me as a smart guy and I am sure you understand that guy says the truth. We all know mistakes happen, issues arise and such but after all that hype, promises and 25$ fee for HD production/HD VODs to openly admit that people who work behind NASL have absolutely no experience is kinda... really slap in the face to current and possible future customers. People didn't pay to witness production "crash course" for those 5 guys. Saying that... I still believe NASL will be better and better with each day and week but to not have a single professional in team is really unacceptable.
uh dude.
I was saying they are GOM employees or DH admins who have been doing it for 10 years. I'm sorry if that bursts some kind of bubble you had. I wasn't saying they have ZERO experience with this stuff. BELIEVE ME with how hard it is to run a damn league to this scale you can safely assume they have some experience with this stuff. OBVIOUSLY.. Russ has been producing/streaming the GCPL as well as other events for a long time. We have a professional editor and graphics designer. One of the co-owners family owns a movie production company.
I am trying to give you background on the people that bring you guys this and so far I have people reading it as "WHAT? THEY HAVE NO EXPERIENCE? THERE IS ONLY 5 OF THEM?"
Please just read my post for what it is. And stop LOOKING for ways to turn this more negative. We obviously don't need it.
