Yesterday's broadcast has had its issues. We all saw it. There are 10+ pages of whining. There is an entirely new cast going on now. Please keep whining about issues experienced yesterday to yourself going forward in the thread and allow other people to enjoy the games.

THANK THE FUCK GOD. It's wasn't just their humour, which was immature, rude and slightly misogynist. It was their obnoxious yuk-yuk laugh.

I thought they were doing some kind of post-modern satire of obnoxious, racist white kids, but then I realized they WERE obnoxious racist white kids.

You and Gretorp are getting better at casting, by the way. You guys seem to be getting into your comfort zone.

to be fair one of them is actually black

Self projecting stereotype, that's just sad...

I know. If one guy was black that almost makes it more annoying.

not what i meant i was just saying one guy is black

2. This was a mistake. It's really really bad. I know the NASL is upset about it and will fix it. There is no way to go back in time.. but please know we are sorry.

3. Maps were updated. There is no legitimate argument for using the outdated maps. That too was a mistake overlooked by not consulting the pro players of the squad (me and gretorp). It has been rectified.

Some inside info:

The NASL isn't a bustling studio of 30 people. It's 5 production people and 2 commentators. We are hiring out professional help for the sound (after the problems) we consult pro's on the stage etc... but we are not some huge broadcasting company. When people say "mistakes like this shouldn't happen.. you need to watch for mistakes!" They do. They do the best they can. A lot of these guys are running off of 4 or less hours a night. Encoding, editing, doing graphics etc.. all each day after this schedule. Do they want your sympathy? No. No they do not. Do they expect better results than what we have produced? MORE THAN YOU KNOW. Nobody is more pissed than Russ and co after each mistake.

This is the first week. None of them came from a broadcasting / league background. All of them are chasing a dream and trying to do it to the best of their abilities. When we make mistakes please tell us with all of this in mind. If you STILL feel the need to say "FIRE X" or "THIS IS FUCKING TERRIBLE" then I guess go ahead and do that.

I get to wake up in the same house as these people and watch them go at it for another 16 hours each day.

It is absolutely unacceptable to make these mistakes and they will not be made continuously. As they happen they get fixed asap. In the end it makes us better. We were never planning on 1 season so we have time to fix these things. Ideally, would they never have happened? OF COURSE. Is it possible to have caught these faster? CERTAINLY. But we didn't and we are sorry. Please understand the sheer effort and work that is going into this. This league is growing and it has growing pains. It also has amateur mistakes and huge errors. All of which will be sorted out as they come up.

I'm sure most everyone appreciates the honesty, accountability and full disclosure, but for paying customers, I don't think reading about how the production team has little experience in broadcasting tournaments is a good thing.

I think most people are learning some hard lessons from MLG and NASL. Don't pay for a product until you know what the product is.

Actually, as a paying customer I do appreciate what incontrol said. The reality is that we are on week 1 still and we have plenty of time and games left to get that money's worth EVEN IF you thought this week wasn't worth a dime. Frankly, as someone who bought the HD pass, I've had an enjoyable week of SC2 in prime time. It hasn't been perfect, and it will get better, but if anyone is REALLY as upset as they are coming across on these forums, I just feel like they need to take a step back and get some perspective here.
You'll never get better being an angry nerd sitting alone in your room.

I appreciate iNcontroL's post and I know he has a ton of heart an effort into this project... However..

How on earth do you try and build up the PREMIERE North American league with a team that has no experience? How would an investor even think this would be a good idea? I'm glad everyone is trying so hard but seriously? Don't bill the product to be a revolutionary change in eSports history if its a bunch of amateurs with big dreams.

I know that comes off as harsh but I feel we've been misled. Having said that I do hope the NASL is extremely successful and I've enjoyed the games, it's a great idea.

Well said. :D Love you Incontrol and NASL

That ZvZ was incredible. Sen is such a champ. I got to see two series from him today and they were both amazing.

Is it me, or has Sen improved immensely since his GSL appearance? I mean, he's always been good, but he's really taking it to the Koreans lately.

Please stop.

I really get annoyed with all this extremist language. It's not even the end of the first week yet and people are STILL getting top quality games. yes there are issues but they are being fixed as fast as they can (usually the next day).

I really get annoyed when people assume 25$ is wasted because the first week wasn't perfect.

iNcontroL, you strike me as a smart guy and I am sure you understand that guy says the truth. We all know mistakes happen, issues arise and such but after all that hype, promises and 25$ fee for HD production/HD VODs to openly admit that people who work behind NASL have absolutely no experience is kinda... really slap in the face to current and possible future customers.

People didn't pay to witness production "crash course" for those 5 guys.

Saying that... I still believe NASL will be better and better with each day and week but to not have a single professional in team is really unacceptable.

Obviously they should have experienced workers from television working on this Starcraft 2 tournament!

In other news, those were a good couple of games!
