It is absolutely true if there are even a few sentries scattered in amongst the stalkers.

In this case, Mondragon did not. Just because he attacks from different angles, then loses them, does not make his play superior. Just because he kills some probes then proceeds to lose 20 mutalisks does not make him a superior player. Being unable to hold off a basic cannon rush does not make him a superior player. This is ridiculous. someone PLEASE explain how Mondragon outplayed Cruncher here? Watch the VODs again and actually look at what Cruncher is doing. You're just throwing out words due to fanboyisms. I don't particularly like Cruncher but people saying he didn't win through outplaying Mondragon are ridiculous. Okay. Let's look at game 2 When Crucher was getting his 4th base, it was attacked by a large forces of roaches. All cannons were either canceled or killed. It was obvious the nexus would die. The roaches run by it to the bottom right main, and Cruncher lets it finish. 300 minerals he threw away. At many points in the game, he lost colossi to roaches in areas he clearly could have ran the colossus away, such as down cliffs or towards cannons. Unnecessarily lost colossi. He placed a crapton of cannons at his third up at the top. Don't know the exact count, but i recall it being in the realm of 10-15. That's 1500 or more minerals of static defense clumped into one small area that is easily avoided by drop play. Cruncher got an early stargate against a player that is well known for drop play against early stargates. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together. At one point in the game, Cruncher sent his entire air fleet (plus obs) to the top left base to deal with the small handful of roaches, maybe 8 or so, that had finished killing the rocks leading towards his 3rd. Cannons were already up - the roaches clearly would not be able to do any damage. By doing this, he leaves his natural almost completely undefended, save for like 3 cannons, and he gets punished for it. He even knew there were some roaches gathering near the ramp to the natural, as he had seen them burrow there with the stargate units before sending them to the top left. Now, I'm sure Mondragon made a few mistakes as well, but when you watch these games, you need to be objective. Don't blindly assume the player that won played better. Now, Mondragon definitely messed up with the cannon rush, and he didn't play that well in the fourth game. But if you think Cruncher played better for this series as a whole, you're kidding yourself.

The likelihood that all of the zerg players who tried to qualify for TSL just need to "step up their games" is pretty low, statistically; that would require that all of the high-level zergs are slackers for some mysterious reason. Or are you saying that there's just something about the zerg race that makes players who select it play poorly? I said the better play won today, which was clearly CrunCher. I also said for zerg players to pick up their game. I'm not going to get into some stupid imba debate. If Blizzard finds zerg underpowered, changes will be made. Until then, zerg players need to pick up their game and play to win, just like CrunCher did today.

When people say things like "the better player always wins" its intentionally ambiguous and stupid. If you truly believe that, then you cannot judge players outside of win/loss ratio at all, and cannot compare players other than head to head games, and even further, all comparisons of 2 players mean nothing until the game is even played. So either you truly mean what you say and better stick to that belief and never judge players outside of head to head win/loss or you are a misguided idiot. You are the misguided one here. "The better player always wins. Today, Cruncher was the better player." TODAY in this best of 5 Cruncher played better, thus he won. Simple as that.

Please prove that his macro was much better than Cruncher's. Strange that they gave you the replays so you could look over them and analyze who macro'd better. And macroing up mutas versus blink stalkers and ht, no amount of macro is going to win that for you bud.

Implying that Mondragon (when he practices) is an inferior player to IdrA and Ret is hilarious. Especially when it comes to figuring things out.

HELLO infestor counter blink stalkers, mass phoenix voidrays and are awesome against everything toss have(ok not against HT). Why noone makes em !?!?! game 1 = Cruncher played terrible , Mondi played awesome. game 2 = Cruncher played good wining because of imba map and invincible combo, Mondi played awesome but its just not enough. game 3 = Cruncher wins with cheese thats easy to defend, Mondi reacts in the worst possible way. game 4 = Both playing awesome but Cruncher was so cost effective that wins even with Mondi massive eco advantage. Overall Cruncher is the superior player today ( or superior race?? ) Cruncher played decent today if we dont count game 1. Clearly deserved this win. GG's !! because all the people that happen to play zerg are nobrainers
