I'm convinced its just a matter of time though until the foreign scene reaches the same level but Korea is always going to have a very high number of awesome players compared to other countries because of the head start they have had when it comes to esports. I don't see why it's obvious that "Koreans are better". That makes it sound like certain players are better because they're Korean. Korea has more top tier players than any other country for sure, but they aren't clearly much better than top tier players from other countries as far as I can tell. Keep in mind when people point out things like foreigners losing to Koreans who aren't code S/code A that even GSL champs are capable of losing to players who aren't code A (as evidenced by team league). All I've seen from the "world all stars" is good games and close series where it felt like anyone could potentially win, not a group of guys getting dazed and outclassed by a somehow superior race/culture/nationality/whatever. I would agree that the GSL (which includes non-Koreans) is the highest level SC2 league in the world overall though. But I think a lot of players could do well in it that aren't willing to move to Korea.

I love the idea of being able to flip into the player's games but I think one of the real draws would be showing the actual players etc Yeah, it's really cool to see them in a relaxed atmosphere like that. I mean there are already enough events that focus on the actual games, so this is nice for a change.

With the new big leagues (NASL, MLG, IGN, IEM, Dreamhack) and training houses (Root etc) growing in the West it can only get better.

A huge thank you to all of those in Korea who either played or helped make this a reality. We realize that with such short notice, many of the viewers and fans were not able to be fully a part of the event. Unless TorcH has some other ideas up his sleeve, you can expect more notice for upcoming events from Cyber Sports Network. Again.. Thank you all and please feel free to give suggestions on how we can improve this sort of event the next time! John Clark Director of Operations Cyber Sports Network, Inc

I think they stayed around for events like this one and probably Gom just booked the time in case one (or two!) of them was in the finals. Just a guess though.

Well their return ticket home is probably scheduled for after the World Championship finals. Would be pretty tacky not to show up just because they lost early.

Now stop being doggedly stubborn and trying to argue that IM DIDN'T send out their B-team. doesnt matter, they showed up. that automatically meant SlayerS's A-team roster is more than 4 players

Everyone got all their 'omg look at that' and 'Kelly sucks'/'the people who say Kelly sucks are racist' comments there. This event wasnt hyped up enough, only 45 pages in this thread? sounds to me not many people knew about it

There's a clear trend of which players certain teams use - only rarely do we see a new face go out, and that's just to get the player experience, usually when the team is already ahead. It can't be denied that SlayerS's run through the GSTL in terms of who got their team wins was pretty much done by MMA, Ryung, and Alicia, with a bit of help from Min.
