My personal apologies for the delay posting games in the tail end of this showmatch - I had a personal medical emergency that put me in the hospital for a few days. Everything is up on LUUUX.com now but the daily-links are below, rounds 4 and 5 will be posted here tomorrow, but are available on LUUUX by following the game-linkthroughs.
LUUUX.com is pleased to announce its entrance into the eSports world with its first sponsored showmatch between two great teams.
*Edited: Games 2 are now linked in this link below, games 3 will be posted by 6pm EST,
Team TLAF-Liquid and Team Mousesports The show-match is a mini-team tournament, consisting of 6 players from each team participating in a best of 5 match series. The Winning team will be awarded a 600$ prize.
The players participating are of course your favorites and we have from Team TLAF-Liquid
The Matchups which were aranged in a double blind manner - each team had to rank their players 1-6 based on how they thought their opponents would rank for pairings.
All of the games and VODs will be posted onto the LUUUX site over the next week, so check back regularly to see the series being progressed.
We will also sit down with each of the players right after the matches to ask them how they felt about the game, to get a bio from the players, some feedback on their opponents and the state of eSports in their own words.
We are also pleased to announce that we have Total Biscuit and Khaldor casting the games. Make sure you check out an epic 3v3 we have also sponsored between TFLA-Liquid and Mousesports on total biscuits youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut *Edit, 3v3 is now available here

Syck and lomo are both quite talented, mouz did a talent scout and came across the pair about the same time, had to snatch them both up!! - Take a look at the games as they are all top of the line, bonus stars for finding hearts and stars way-points in a few of them!!

Is this uploaded yet? If so is there a link? I can't seem to find it on Total Biscuit's channel.
Excited about the rest of the showmatches! This should be good.
Sorry everyone, some of the links in the original post were broken, they have been fixed. TotalBiscuits 3v3 will be up in the next day or so, he was travelling .
In the mean time, Games one were posted last night, games two will be posted tonight, 3 tomorrow and so on, so check back daily to see how your favorite players are showing!
MorroW might take down TLO if TLO is playing Terran, I'd definitely fancy him to take it late game at least.
Huk will probably beat Strelok if he's aggressive/cheesy, if Strelok gets going then it'll be an interesting series but I really don't think many Terrans are confident in TvP lately.
Mana vs Jinro will be fun given Jinro's problems vs Protoss levelling the playing field somewhat (Jinro being generally the better player). Still expect Jinro to win
Hasu vs HayPro is the most interesting on paper, Hayder plays some pretty interesting ZvP and I definitely think he can pull that off.
Syck vs Tyler will be one sided, Syck's not on the same level as the other players involved (yet)
Lomo vs Ret is the same as above, Mouz will pretty much be guaranteed the overall loss due to the lack of depth meaning their top guys have to somehow dominate 3/4 of the top liquid guys.
Great series of matches, the Mana vs Jinro series is a must see
I should point out that myself and Khaldor deliberated casted this in a very simplistic fashion, since Luuux is promoting this to their members, most of whom have no idea what Starcraft is. Heres to trying to spread eSports to a wider audience.
TLO vs Morrow was decent, some nice early defence from MorroW but he didn't seem to really know how he wanted to deal with TLO's mech play. The Muta's just got shredded by all the Thors, and banelings aren't ever really cost effective vs Tanks even if they took out a few marines too.
Huk vs Strelok was meh, proxy gate into 3gate (4gate when proxy was reactivated) and after choosing to counter after holding the proxy pressure Strelok didn't have enough of anything (units or production) to ever hold the next push off
Mana vs Jinro was your average game, felt like so many TvPs lately where the Terran tries the kind of timing push that is supposed to be effective, but ends up getting routed by forcefields instead.
Hasu vs Hayder was the best game of the bunch, I really thought Haypro was going to have it after his muta harass pinned Hasu back on his side of the map and let Haypro get up a couple of extra bases. Hasu was very cost effective with his army though and once he killed off Haypro's fourth he was able to get into a position where he had both an eco and army lead, while Haypro didn't have the time to drone back up or anything and it was pretty much done from there.
I had a chance to sit down with mouz.lomo for an interview, it will be posted along with other content over the next couple of days.
"Day one" of the games were posted today, "Day two" of games will be posted tomorrow for the next week or so, keep checking back for the games and other tidbits (like interviews etc)
Syck is awesome, he'll do well, don't know about him winning though!.
Lomo on the other hand i think he will have no chance against Ret, considering the fact that hes sat about 2200 masters with almost no bonus pool in season 1! good luck to both teams! go liquid!.

Lomo is lazy he doesn't ladder that much, i know him.
Game 2's in each of the series will be posted tomorrow, 3 the day after etc,

syck isnt even as good as me, and i stand no chance against any real pro. lomo has more talent in my eyes, but both are not good enough to be mouz-members.

6 matches, each one a Best of 5. So over the next 5 days (I think?), each succeeding game of each match will be posted. That's what I could gather, anyways.

the cw was played like 2 weeks ago btw oO
Actually the last games were played on Friday...do not know where you got your information from.
I really, really like TB-s use of the new observer tools. I can see that they can really appeal to the newer audience, kudos to Blizzard for making them and TB for using them (haven't seen them being used that much since they came out).

It has been played, they are uploading Vods of matches every day. The first game in each match up has been played and you can find the links in the first post, the second games will be up tomorrow, and so on =)

Anyone knows what happens if they each win 3 matches? Ace match?
It's just a showmatch, so I'd not be surprised if they don't care too much about an overall score between the two teams (though realistically Mouz have a tiny chance of winning given the last 2 match ups). Maybe they use that 3v3 as a tiebreaker lol

Maybe it has something to do with both Mouz and Liquid kinda being European teams. Mouz's lineup is admittedly not the most solid for these kinds of events though :/
I am really looking forward to jinro vs Mana, Jinro has said recently that his bad match up is TvP and I hope he can take down Mana has he is a great protoss. TLO vs Morrow will be really entertaining, great show match!

That's some bias/one sided opinion, but its your opinion.
The first 4 matches will definitely decide the game and might be one way or another. Like I said before Syck and Lomo doesn't have any past achievements but mouz won't recruit them If they aren't that good. I'm interested at the last 2 matches and see how these rookies face off against veterans. Oh I don't know how Mana will face Jinro, i love Mana's PVT but his build is not that good anymore since the lastest patch.

I'm not saying anything bad about Mouz (in fact we have never won a cw against Mouz in SC2 yet), but I still think that we should have been invited given our overall performance in every team event so far in SC2.

Well its just a pretty insignificant showmatch, 100$ each if they win. I doubt they went into this with the aim of getting the top 2 foreigner teams fighting, but rather to get 2 good and popular teams.
Comes off a bit like if Sen would mention that he should have been chosen over another player in a Complexity the "V" series. Anyways, no hate meant : ).

I hope there will be more CWs like that but I think it's not that good organized. One game of each series a day is a bit strange. Would be better to upload one complete bo5 each day.
Being a manager of both teams, I can only say that LUUUX and Bod has been awesome to work with so far! I really like their concept and how he works. Thumbs up - more people like them in eSports.
Watched the first day... Some of the games were decent, some were stomps... but I got annoyed at the lack of the other games.
By the time all of the games roll out, I will have forgotten how each individual Bo5 went, making me lose interest. If you do these again, I really recommend doing a whole Bo5 each day instead since it provides for a lot more continuity between the matches.
Presenting them like this gives the illusion of 5 discrete games as opposed to one series in which we can see the evolution of the mind games, minor adjustments to their play and the logic behind some of their decisions.
I like the games, only the cast could have been better, the HasuObs game was great <3 just a tip TB, don't say however too much pls. For the rest it was good

Xeris complaining about just / unjust invites. I love the irony.
I watched the games, it was cool to see, i like the way you "dumb down" the commentary for newer watchers, as i recently had my girlfriend watching the TSL with me and i ended up just muting the commentators and commentating myself in a similar style to how you are doing it as she had no idea what they were talking about.
I would also like to add that if there is going to be a Bo5 series, always post them all at once, or it removes any reason to have it. Much of what is attractive about Sc2 as an Esport in my opinion is the story that develops over series and tournaments, but separating the matches you kill any chance of a story developing.
Still, nice work, and ignore the haters TB, we need people who commentate for everyone, sometimes i don't want to watch a hyperanalytical commentary, but i would like to show my friend this cool game, and things like that help me do that and help me bring others in.
Luuux <3 esports? Not likely. It strikes me as one of those 'content farm' websites like Expertvillage that floods the web with fluff in the hope of getting clicks.

I wouldn't count these guys out in their matchups ... especially after TSL3, picking favorites is seeming harder and harder based on name recognition alone ...
Dizzy im sorry you feel that way, LUUUX is a community of bloggers who like to blog, if you take a look at even the webpage you are on right now, many individuals here like to share their ideas and experiences - some may like to do this in a blog fashion.
Also did not realize that biographies, interviews, showmatch games and the other content we are releasing would be considered fluff.
TB and Khaldor both did a fantastic job with the commentary, we had asked for a "dumbed down" version so that the mainstream audience luuux currently has would be able to get into the games and learn about eSports and enjoy them the way I am sure many of you do. Many thanks to everyone who has shown interest and support, the next round of games are highly entertaining.
Regarding the release of 1 game each or one full b05 each day, we will take that into consideration on our next event, thank you.
Yes, we are having some issues with the hasu game and 2 of the "pt2" videos - we are working diligently to resolve them.
In the mean time if youd like to go to www.luuux.com/tag/esports you can manually find the games if you would like, if not the full release will be up "soon"

The video of game 2 between TLO and Morrow is broken. In the middle there is a part replaced with the video of game 1. Please fix, the games are very interesting.
Yeah, in the video of game 2 between morrow and tlo the part between roughly 4:10 and 7:55 is replaced with game 1. Khaldors sentences cut together quite well though, so the transition between the games is smooth and quite confusing lol :D
Hehe. When Tyler points out that builds are risky he is not making a statement of whether or not the player is good or that picking that strategy is good, he is making a statement against those who say the player can not be beaten.
Statistically it can be good to choose 'upsetting' builds once in a while.
Question to LUUUX.com Where are your servers located? Somehow when I browse your website it takes awhile to load and I just get impatient and close the page loll. I'm from Montreal if that has anything to do with the connection issue
Are the games going to be up on Youtube officially any time soon? It seems easier to browse throught hem with a Youtube Playlist than on your site currently, and all the videos are set to private.
On April 01 2011 08:22 Harris1st wrote: i was quite hyped for this showmatch, but it's kinda poorly executed...
Yeah, I'm not really sure what's happening right now. I managed to hunt down most of the day 2 VODs by navigating their extremely slow and somewhat disorganized website. I'm still waiting for HasuObs vs. HayprO and the second part of Ret vs. Lomo. I was pretty excited for this show match, but I feel like the poor execution will just mean I'll lose interest and won't see the rest of the games.
Do wish it was quite /so/ dumbed down. TD certainly has the voice for it. It sounds like an IGN explanation. I just wish there was a lot .... significantly more why things are important and more talk about what was happening rather than so much flowery nothing. I.e. Roaches spit acidic saliva at things... something unpleasant yada yada+ Show Spoiler +
4:30 liquid tyler game
. Very little talk about the sort of openings of both players. Also maybe a little more elaboration about why i.e. getting supply capped can be so bad or why x decision might have been smart. It doesn't have to be day9 something toned down a little from moletrap/diggity is good.
lomo and syck i havnt heard of but from reading this thread it sounds like theyre decent and will show us great games, im disappointed that i didnt see mouz.Naama in their lineup tho....
These retarded removed position maps are just as bad as they were with close positions Tyler had a million proxies to choose from. Same goes for meta and watever other maps they have in there
What is wrong with the videos? It's worse than watching a live stream, huge amounts of stuttering, artifacts, spontaneous transitions to previous games in the series...
I appreciate what you guys are doing luuux, but I think you guys would get even more exposure if you made these videos public. It would make it a lot easier on the viewers too.
The idea is great, the execution is awful. Please consider revamping your website as soon as possible (more specific titles for videos and more user-friendly navigation), as well as making sure the videos work right.
wow i must say i was a hater for TB before but he has improved so much and improved his game knowledge quite a bit and is the only caster that utilizes all those blizzard added obs helper add ons. Great cast TB you are improving so much with each cast. Sick sick series!!
I dont even know where to find games.....this matche is already finished? Or are there some games remaining? I have watched the games nr 1 and 2 but where are the others?
Comentators are great i love TB and Khaldor....but so hard to find some reliable information...
haypro vs hasu g2 and lomo vs ret g2 are incomplete. G3 not out yet it seems. Still waiting for more information as to where we can actually see these games.
Ive seen bod reply after its been brought up by a few posters but he hasnt mentioned why game 2 of TLO vs Morrow is broken, after the 4 minute mark it glitches into showing the first match....
Other than that thanks for the content Luuux! The site is very very slow for me but I imagine that is due to increased traffic. I personally enjoyed the commentary all around, the fact that the site isnt geared towards hardcore sc2 fans would make sense why its been "dumbed down" but at least it wasnt inaccurate or annoying. The german(?) commentator had me cracking up a few times and as always TotalBisquit rocks! <3
(ps please fix tlo v morrow 2nd vod, I am REALLY curious about these two matching up again)
On April 01 2011 16:42 JollYRoGeR wrote: i can't find the second games! soooo hard to navigate on the site.
the luuux site doesn't seem to be accustomed to much traffic.
this showmatch has the opposite effect it should have, showing the weaknesses of the site. and the disorganisation does the rest.
with mlg upcoming, everybody will forget about this...at least thats the case for me
hoping for better organisation with this 64-player tournament you guys are planning
Somehow this Post is quite funny after the MLG happened....
On Topic: I really liked most of the games i've seen, though the 3v3 was too disappointing (except for the "mouzMorrow: Can i join Liquid?" line :p ). TotalBiscuit is exactly the right caster for this type of "casting for those that don't know the game" - with which i don't mean that he doesn't know the game either, but instead that he has a way of explaining it in simpler terms.

3 -WILL- be posted later this afternoon, Cheers! thanks for continuned interest
Hmm... a lot of the round 2 videos ends abruptly, ie. the last game (has no ending).
And on the above promise, round 3 is not up yet?
Suggestion: Perhaps it would make a bit more sense to upload one series at the time? Switching between players is a bit confusing, and with incomplete uploads (series) it kind of leaves us hanging in suspension. If that's on purpose, why isn't there a schedule or something to make us come back?
Did the OP just completely give up on this? There hasn't been an update for a while now. I've been following this closely because I really am interested in the matches, but it's so frustrating with all the issues.
I hope there are just some minor issues, but I think it'd still be nice to have some word from the OP about what's happening. Or at the very least not make any "promises" that aren't going to be kept.
Edit: Just realized that some people are still waiting for vods, so I'm putting my response in spoiler tags so there's no chance of ruining anything for 'em.
jinro match has no hq video. just the basic 360p & 480p. will there be a HQ version?
was this showmatch done all in the same day or spread out over a couple days?
when did this happen?
- EDIT - WOW you're LUUUX site is so disorganized, it fk'n disgusting. Its like someone that doesn't know how to drink, had a few too many and threw up on themselves, and you decided to call it the luuux esports section. where are the fuckin matches? how many links, and how many redirected ads (IN THE BACKGROUND) am i going to have to click? get a real server too, your servers slower than shit just trying to load a page.
3 Sets are listed, which should be 18 matches. You have 11 matches up on your main site. You're missing 7 matches, that are actually there, you just have to click the links and discover them. Some of your links to "watch the end of this match" are wrong. They're the beginning to some random series.
OMFG...seriously. how are you gonna organize a tournament when you can't even organize and properly post a basic 6 set match series. some matches have part 1 & 2, some matches only have part 1 with NO part 2 anywhere. trust me...i've been on your POS for over 40 minutes trying to find it. AND NO, i won't tell you what set it is. Thats YOUR job. Naming your files like: mous.Lomo vs LiquidRET Game 1 (pt2) of LUUUX.com blah blah blah" and "lomoret2-final-part1.avi" is the reason you can't get your shit straight. And that's a clue to one of the matches are missing. And where's the rest of Set 2 match 4 with Haypro vs Haus? Its STILL not up.
Learn how to host a site and stop fuckin lieing. Sets 4 & 5 ARE NOT on your site, and I HIGHLY doubt you had an emergency. Nice convenient BS excuse because your unorganized and falling behind. Like we all haven't used that one before. Quite smoking weed you stupid piece of shit. . "PERSONAL EMERGENCY"? who the fucks even says that? People that HAVE HAD REAL EMERGENCIES, don't present their situation like that. People that are full of shit do. That's why a good lie always has details. I would know. I used to be THAT guy, and use it to rob people because it was fun. So yeah, i used to be one of the biggest pieces of shit out there. Real recognize, real, and you're a rookie. You lie like your 6. Its so bad that i can tell by how you've written it. I don't know if you're more of a joke, or you site. What was your emergency? I wanna hear some more BS.
Where do people like this come from? People will go to your site, look at the eSports section and NEVER AGAIN think about checking out SC2. That's what you're doing for eSports.
Has anyone else gone and tried to find the rest of the matches on this guys site? OMG garbage like this pisses me of SO bad. How are you NOT embarrassed?
