Entry fee from day 1 goes directly into prize pool.
Format: Day 1: Single elimination tournament. 7 finalists will move on to day 2. Entry for the tournament will be $15 paid upon arrival.
Day 2: 16 man double elimination tournament. 7 finalists plus 9 winners from qualifiers. No entry fee.

Tournament registration will continue until 04/15/2011
Equipment: Play will be done on provided computers. If you have a mouse or keyboard that you prefer to use, feel free to bring it, but it is not mandatory.
Details: Entry for the tournament will be $15 paid on arrival. The top 7 players qualify for the Grand Finals on 04/17/2011.

As posted, this is a 2 day tournament. the first day is to fill in the 7 spots leftover in a 16 man bracket the very next day. The entry fee is only $15 for this event and that goes directly into the prize pool for Sunday.
Tell everyone you know to com on by as you can bet Sunday will be a star studded event of local talent!

I forgot to mention, I will be ordering medium and small shirts that should be in before the tournament. i know a bunch of you guys are waiting on them, so this will be your opportunity to grab them in the right size. So many skinny gamers XD

Lan center charges $5 to spectate. I have it set so anyone that plays on the 1st day can spectate for free on the 2nd.

The rules link just takes you to the forum index page. I found a post about this within the Upcoming Events section, but that post does not contain any more information than this one. Just wondering what the format on day 1 will be. Says single elimination up top but the qualifier thread on the site says its double elimination. Also, will it be bo1, bo3?

Sorry about the confusion. There was a recent change to the website and I'll have to update the links. Day 1 is a single elimination Bo3. The double elimination matches are for the normal qualifiers and the grand finals.

10a door/ 11a start time is a GO! for both Saturday and Sunday, so sign up for Saturday while you still can!
We didn't get as much sponsorship as was expected, so spectating will be $5 for each day.

MLG Dallas was a HUGE weekend. Sadly I wasn't there, though my wife did ask "aren't you sick of that yet?" in regards to me sitting in front of my computer fist pumping during matches. Now that the weekend is over, it's time to wind back down to get ready for what's coming up. If your in the New England area and you want to game with someone who is on leave from deployment, stop by Dover, Nh and hang out/ game with Bliss while m155g33k allows him out of her bedroom

The weekend after that is what this thread is all about. We still have PLENTY of spots open for Saturdays tournament (I did open it to 128 spots after all) and on Sunday you'll be able to get your coL.Ryan fix that we all missed in Dallas (Ryan and all of complexity did very well). You may also find out why LastShadow skipped out on Dallas.

Looks like we may be having a special guest to commentate the finals on Sunday. I won't say who just yet, but just know that the person is an established commentator and pro SC2 player. And if you know who it is, don't ruin the surprise. Though I will take guesses :p

Holy crap, less than a week til we button things up. I'm surprised we haven't had more guesses as to who the mystery commentator will be for the finals Sunday. Saturday still has plenty of open spots for anyone interested in registering. Oh yeah, Ryan may get to throw his voice into a few matches so Force and I can take a rest on Saturday. I was honestly expecting more people to sign up seeing as it is a cheeper buy in for more money. And once we hit the top 8, there would have been matches for seeding for everyone that loses. However, we can do double elim and it will work fine with the numbers we have. No one and outs this time.

So I kept it a secret for a while, but EG gaming's iNcontroL had agreed to guest commentate the last matches for this Sunday's Grand Finals. that was about 2 weeks ago. Sadly, iNcontroL has responsibilities with the NASL that he has to take care of. So on short notice, I searched far and wide for a man well known in the scene for his commentary and interviewing skills. That man, is AskJoshy!

I seem to have a problem, i lost my orochi mouse USB cable... 
However...
I have a laptop, with bluetooth that I also use for my Razer Orochi mouse.
If at all possible it would be ideal to just use my own laptop at the event, with a wired or wireless connection to the LAN, if that's allowed.
If I can't bring my laptop, am I able to bring my external USB keyboard and the bluetooth mouse with a usb bluetooth dongle to pair to it?

Update on the overnight... NEG. Looks like beds must be found for some people. I would offer, but I already have a squatter in my living room. There is a Holiday Inn across the way. I would get a room and then pack like 8 guys in it, but only say it's for 2 or 4.

So just an update, for the Grand Finals on Sunday, you CAN bring your monitor if you want to. We just have to make sure that everything is kept clean and clutter free. So all moved monitors and peripherals that belong to the LAN will have to be put in a safe place.

I had a great time at the tournament today. Everything was really well organized, and I want to give a special thanks to Ryan and Drogith for casting one of my games. Oh, and bonesnap reconsidered after I beat him and did not make me walk home to southern MA. So that was nice too.

Congratulations to everyone that showed up and made a great showing, especially GGLastShadow, coLRyan, and tgRanger taking 1st through 3rd respectively. I would also like to congratulate EVOBoyo, a 14yr old on the rise, for winning his first tournament on Saturday and showing up to play hard Sunday as well. The league will be on hiatus for a month as we gear up for season 2 starting in June with more events in more locations and more sponsors: Cooler Master, NZXT, and Kingston Hyper X.

I showed a lady I work with these pictures and she is surprised at how serious everybody is while playing. Then I dropped the bomb about the prize amount and she understood why.

XD I will probably be working on these tonight. The streams are up on the league Ustream if you want to check them out there until I can split all the media files and get them uploaded in a more concise manner, as opposed to hour long blocks.
