everyone saying that it was an unwinable position if squirtle got a 3rd up there needs to look at squirtles micro (or lack there of) in game 1............ he let like 6 collosi get picked off without taking out a single corrupter. IdrA needs to try to win these "impossible" games sometimes. We've seen people come back, and that 1 time it happens in 100 tries could be game 5 of the quarter finals at the IEM World Championship.

Slightly off-topic, but is there a gif yet of the epic chair-fall of Day[9] from Day 1?

i disagree with attacking there being the lesser of two evils.

if he wanted to have just the slightest chance of winning. he might as well just go and base trade and hit the natural or something. There was no way he can win that fight without corruptors going down the choke.

Or he could have waited for spire as it was just completed and make a few corruptors and went all in anyway.

No doubt he was in a very bad situation due to the failed roach aggression. But i still think that was a bad decision.

the latter. IdrA hasn't really trained against protoss, Moon, on the other hand, has ZvP down pat.

Maybe there's something to this. I've always thought of ZvT as Idra's best matchup.

It's funny, Moon beat Squirtle with Hydra drops, which I remember Idra doing in the beta after the roach nerfs.

People don't understand, the Protoss who was already somewhat ahead in economy would've easily won the game with his 3rd up inbetween their bases and constant Collossi harass.

But then again, people don't understand hehe ;P

Idra had 3rd base coming up and that engagement was just a terrible decision. He still had a change to win the game if he wouldn't have attacked there. Basically Idra just trashed everything.

Yea, so he should just let Squirtle get his third up, which is right next to Idra's main and allow him to slowly creep up with his army and slowly destroy Idra's base?

I'm pretty sure Idra knows what he's doing and the fact he committed to the engagement means that he had to prevent the third from going up.

Obviously the decision to attack wasn't the best decision. He might have lost later on anyway if he instead decided to let the toss get his third base up, but we will never know.

Don't draw conclusions based on a couple of games.

What he says is correct though. Idra is probably a better player than Moon but ZvP is by far Idras weakest matchup. He tries to make it sound like ZvP is completely broken when other players manage to win where he doesn't. Idra is the person having trouble beating Protoss players, not zergs in general. At least not so far in this tournament or in Assembly before it.

The Protoss in Assembly obviously aren't as good as Korean Toss (PvZ). Had this been Socke vs Idra, he probably would've taken it, recall he did beat WhiteRa 2 days ago.

I haven't seen any Zerg do well against the top Toss, particularly when they play well.

Moon has said he plays mostly on ladder the same as Idra because he only has 2 sc2 team mates and i dont think either of them play P I know lyn plays T not sure about Soccer.

A lot of people assumed Moon would be bad but both Moon and Lyn have improved a lot now they are spending more time on SC2.

Absolutely false and any korean zerg can attest to that. Squirtle just played poorly against Moon and Moonglade.

Idra's issue with every match up, is hes 99.9% predictable in everything he does but makes up for it with great mechanics, when he runs into people that know how to exploit his game he loses.

What a disappointing, but predictable, way to end the game. If IdrA's idea of 'strategy' is choosing the worst possible time and place to attack (with a unit composition that is pretty damned bad), it's no wonder he decided to leave Korea.

Well, idra was always saying that ZvP is his worst matchup. Squirtle is very good protoss.
We cant blame IdrA for this attack, he just couldnt let Squirtle get 3rd base ;<
I'm getting the derection.

Other tournaments need to follow MLG's lead and eliminate horizontal spawns on Shakuras, it's such an absurd advantage for Terran//Protoss vs Zerg. Horizontal spawns on Shak are what maps would look like, if Blizz specifically asked Protoss and Terran players, "How can we make a map, where Zerg almost cannot possibly win"?

I say this as a Master's League toss, there have been so many games I've won on horizontal Shak against Z where I thought afterwards, "Man, thank god that map is so imba".
