The Stars aligned in some godly fashion for July Zerg, not sure how well that would have gone if he ran up that ramp 15seconds sooner Probably the same, because July didn't block the barracks, they landed. He then just busted the addon and bunker.

Why are people applauding him? Is there some double stranded i'm missing? Are Terran players 2nd class citizens? I don't understand I guess it's simply because there are so many Terrans you are happy about a Zerg advancing even if it is in a cheesy way.

Despite it being quite sad to see MvP out so early, but it's probably better for the tournament. most people in GSL are scared of facing MvP, now that he's out literly anyone can win the whole thing now, can't wait for the rest of season 5 ^_^

I guess that's how it goes sometimes, though. Agreed. :/ Disappointing games. Didn't feel like July even did anything either of those games to win. He just sort of won. He A) worked out his opponent's most common build B) exploited a potential weakness Welcome to Starcraft. This is how the game develops. C) He rolled up the ramp at the luckiest time possible.
All the better for him. Starcraft is a dynamic game. This is how the 'standard' gets worked out, as we get as greedy as possible while being as safe as possible.

You might notice ''when'' looks a bit strange, thats because I tried to imply Huk is so good he will qualify :p Yes, he hasnt qualified.

It's not just a "Nazi symbol" It was depicting July Zerg as the Hindu god Vishnu I dunno man...I think that symbol has been pretty effectively rebranded. it has in the west, but if you go to india you see it everywhere in its original form. and i think the nazi swastika has arms that go the opposite direction to the hindu one.
yeah the nazi swastika is the mirrored image of the hindu swastika.

Unbelievable. Can't believe July pulled it off...
The first game was definitely more of a bad strategical decision by MVP as opposed to the bunker lift in game 2, so I'm sure he won't make that mistake again - getting impatient / cocky, sending a weak timing attack across one of the largest maps in the pool, leaving him unprepared for the huge muta pop...
Sad to see our hero Terran fall, I wanted to see him play against MC in some epic PvTs! But since he'll definitely crush whoever challenges him in the Up & Down matches, I'm not too disappointed, we've seen him dominate plenty already. Also, it's great to know we're guaranteed to see more of JulyZerg (was worried he might drop out of Code S)

As the chorus of boo's to July's cheese rain down, I think back to January GSL finals when MVP "star-sense'd" absolutely anything and everything MKP tried to do, and now against July, a complete and total lack of scouting lost him the game. Baneling busting isn't cheese, fyi. Especially considering it only happens if a Terran walls. I consider strats dependent on what your opponent does not cheese by default, since it's a reactionary move and not done blindly.

lol gsl became less interesting for me (for code s) in the very first day =D but I m looking forward for huk now
|
Funny how the only aggression a zerg can apply in the early game (except maybe a roach rush, but those are pretty now vs terrans) is considered all in...
Granted MVP looked tired, but July is a great player who has been practicing like mad recently, and it payed off.

LOL you trying to say that you know what goes on in flash's and jaedong's minds makes it kind of hard to take you seriously. You honestly think that people fulling understand sc2? If its that easy why don't you do it and go throw down some wins on july, mc and mvp. I'm sure you'll get lucky at least once.

btw huge risks taken in both games for July
Yeah. Huge risks =/= crossing your fingers to get out of the Ro32 and hoping banebusts work to beat the best SC2 player in the world because late game would be an instant loss.
As many others have said, July has a huge history behind him in Brood War, but he hasn't done anything impressive in the SC2 scene yet.

I don't think players are even close to the skill ceiling of SC2 yet. Don't forget, BW was out a long, long time.

Would you be saying the same if he came from pro Age of Empires scene? Any BW pro gets colossal favoritism here, people should be used to that by now. It so happens to being a top pro at bw is the biggest achievement in the Esport scene. Tough hey ? Nice July, was right to check that LR, you're still awesome it seems.

edit: nvm

Mvp is most likely going to face ST_squirtle and ST_bomber in the up&down matches... Talking about gstl team grudges...

Anyone have the picture of July dressed as a watermelon?

Hmm... SC music playing in the background? Very low?
