Please remember that these threads are for talking about the games. People who cannot watch rely on these threads for information. If the thread is diluted with balance/caster/lack of snacks whine, it makes it useless for those who want to read it.
Thanks a lot! |

I watched the VOD of July v MVP game 2 and I thought it was somewhat comical seeing barracks being lifted as banelings march on. It's as if auto-door at a department store saying "Welcome, please come in" And July was like 'is it for real?' and unsure, turning around for a bit in confusion/disbelief.
I wonder how the game would have turned out had MVP did not life the rax to make add-ons. It'd have been much closer but I think July would still have taken it, barely.

Very sick games, I do not regret buying the season ticket, we are getting the most insane games ever. Though o was very disappointed in imvp, it was no luck he should've scouted better," there is no ifs or buts. He lost those games for being stupid.

Byun/Zenio game was amazing, on the other hand, that's how TvZ is supposed to be played. Ghosts versus Zerg? Incredible.

I cant believe MVP lost like that, one of the games was just a mistake with the lift off. The other he just got beat. Props to July.

All I have to say is now the July haters can shut up, he defied MVP twice and left Artosis and Tasteless in disbelief. Go July!
|
Wasn't MVP's day for sure!
First game after July's first attack, MVP was clearly in front(could finish July with just moving his units up to July's base) until the fatal attack, somehow, July managed to put enough pressure on MVP, so MVP never realized his advantage until it was too late.
Same thing MC was doing in GSL3, being in the face of your opponent, makes them drift away from the game plan.
Second game, that was pure luck..sh*t happens, if he didn't lift up then there would been less banelings in base, and possibly if bunker did went up it could have hold.
Best of luck to July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MVP should get over it, you win some you loose some.

What's annoying though is that Tastosis's double standard. Basically what Zergs do these days as one of the offensive opening is refined versions of "Kyrix Style". But when Kyrix did it Artosis kept on saying "All-in player", "shows no depth", " got figured out", etc. even though Kyrix rarely does that these days. When July does it it's "refreshing to see such a great player doing an all-in", "not afraid of doing an all-in", "brilliant strategy", "god of war, aggressive zerg, the awesomefuckingmaster July!"
They do it all the time and this player-based bias is really annoying. (exception: BBBPrime)

The bunker did go up... and the banelings blew it up....
On another note, you can see after his loss to July how panicked he starts to look, he knows he's not invincible..

Except that July had 2 entirely different builds in his 2 games against MVP and has demonstrated depth beyond baneling busting. Kyrix got to where he was with his high-econ banelings almost every single game, July had 2 builds that were specifically to kill MVP in an otherwise immensely difficult match up.
MVP marine/scv rushed IdrA in close positions on Metalopolis in the GSL. The difference in reactions between him and BitByBit are the same as July and Kyrix.
BitByBit and Kyrix all-in regardless of what the opponent does all the time.
July and MVP all-in when the opponent leaves themselves vulnerable to it. (If you want to call marine/scv all-in, which it isn't really.)
Totally fucking different.

Looking forward: I pity the poor sap from Code A who gets pitted against MVP in the up/down matches. XD

I agree with this poster. If a code A player ever did something like this and lost, Tastosis would be harping on that player for the next 5 GSL seasons. But July did it and won, so it was this great thing.
Personally, I do think it was this great thing. And I'm glad Tastosis see it for what it is. But it is shameful they do not see other plays as being brilliant as well. Believe me, if you are at this level, mathematically nothing you do is stupid, because stupid play gets shut down at the diamond level.
Seriously.

Kyrix has not even once all-in'ed in any of his games. Always goes for expansions while keeping aggression, yet to Artosis' eyes that's an all-in. On the other hand, July does real all-in's every other game these days. Yet Artosis can't stop repeating 'god of war' or whatever that is.

Any news from MVP? Interviews, comments and stuff? I would really appreciate if someone translates some stuff from the Korean media.

Can someone please please please pm me a vlc or stream link.... on mac no hope currently

Hmm i wonder if i'm the only who thinks MVP was kinda sick or something? He did not look well before the game with hyperdub and i remember thinking he can not completem as he paused the game.

Normally after a player wins the music is upbeat and motivational. After July beat MVP, IMO the music seemed kind of...dark and depressing. It kind of fits, and seems an odd coincidence.

JulyZerg is not a god of war hes rather a FROG OF WAR.
Im very disappointed that mvp is out. I am a big MC fanboy, but its always a pleasure to watch mvp as he plays absolutely fantastic. Last game he messed up, sad to see a worse player advance :-/.
