Why? Socke kicked Huk out of Assembly, out of Dreamhack. Naniwa is probably better in PvP as PvP is Huks and Sockes worst match up. Naniwa is insane in PvT and what I saw from Huk - its just about the same level, nothing spectacular. I saw Socke playing lots of good games vs DemusliM whereas I've never seen Huk beat DemusliM. So you go figure, I have solid arguments to back up that those 2 are on par with huk. I don't care who he beats on ladder if it doesn't show in tourneys. And as I already mentioned, I like huk. I support him - but that cocky behaviour he deserves to be out against a "worse player". Not saying anymore about it. I will now enjoy watching Socke in his best match up PVZ. Whoa whoa, I thought Sockes PvT was his best. Is his PvZ better???? If you ask him, his PvZ is way better.
Yeah, cannons work well against them aswell.

There are many players that are a couple of levels above HuK in this tournament. He was being a smart ass because HuK said he was the best player at the tournament and would win. Its okay that you are defending your player, but still. Stating such a thing and then losing in that fashion against a proxygate is nothing but laughable. I do like Huk and I think he's a good player, but that was well deserved. So, call me a smartass for that, but I just don't like that cocky behaviour. I think the interviewer asked him asked him the question and he said yes. It wasn't like an out of a the blue "I'm fucking amazing". I would expect more of you.
Well, I think Huk has always gotten hate for being so cocky/confident/however you want to put it. Remember in that other interview last year when he said he was going to be the next Lim Yo-Hwan? The backlash for that was much, much worse before, though he wasn't part of Liquid then. Well, he'll have time to prove himself for real in the Code A tourney.

I don't know why ppl are so butthurt about HuK being confident coming into the tournament. He expected to win and overall displayed a very high lvl of play.

DieStar the last Terran, that's a surprise.
Maybe no terrans in the semis.

Skilled professionals in any sport lose all the time. However, the last thing we should do is lash out at what we think are our "enemies." After a game, soccer players shake hands and even hug each other to congratulate each other on the hard-fought game that both sides played. That is exactly what happened in this best of 3 series, and I'm sure we can take after HuK's example since he would certainly find the soonest opportunity to congratulate Socke and wish him luck in the rest of the tournament. Our heroes are not infallible, but what makes them stand apart is their ability to rebound and come back the next time to prove their worth. Let's all be grateful that HuK will be representing Canada, North America, and non-Koreans in the upcoming GSL. HuK, put this loss behind you and just look forward!!
TO SOCKE FANS: Congratulations! And I mean that sincerely. You have reason to celebrate, and no one should be able to dampen this victory for you. But the one thing I do ask is that in your celebration, be sensitive, courteous, and civilized so as not to incite division and anger among the gaming community. Absolute statements about HuK's character, or the character of North Americans across the board are just slightly unnecessary. But nevertheless, congrats! GG and WP to Socke! So much sense in a LR post, does not compute.
You are right of course.

Socke won a nice blink stalker game and then got a cheesy win on a terrible map, but it's PvP and Huk does the same. I like both players and both of them deserve credit for how well they've done at this tournament. It was a huge all in by Socke, but that's what you do on Steppes- you either all in or you lose to an all in. Anyways, I'm mostly just curious why on earth the Assembly organizers would allow Steppes in a tournament.
Finally, only one other person is wise enough to talk about the MAP!!! I said the same thing. Steppes is proven to be a terrible map from like a year of playing on it.

I'd assume it's that they are not as fun (i.e. totalbiscuit), and they don't have accurate commentary (i.e. day9), so they're just kind of the English option. This isn't what I think btw, I'm kind of indifferent to Martijn.

Where the hell has all this Socke hate come from? People are acting like HuK just got cheesed out by some skilless no-name, that's not what happened at all. Have most people from NA just never heard of Socke before or something? He is one of the best Protoss in europe.
Completely deserved the win and there is no shame in HuK losing to him.

Yeah, just yesterday I lost a game because I saw only the first proxy and assumed it was one gate, then got destroyed by zealots ... Really, if anything, it highlights how retarded PvP can get, one wrong step and you are dead, no option of coming back
