SjoW lost to players who came prepared for him. You can call it an upset, because it probably is for most of you, but these guys came ready for him. It wouldn't surprise if he tilted after losing to Sein either which could be why he lost to RunA who also had a trick up his sleeve.

It means player styles will have more personality. To rephrase that, I'm saying it's a formula that ought not be successful in the long run and the sooner we get there, the better. Neither his micro or macro is good, which is especially obvious when watching his stream. It's a play style that is hard to appreciate a spectator, so in other words I dislike the style. Thus I obviously also do not wish the style to be successful.
Yea i also find it hard to appreciate his style. Watching him play doesnt really impress me. His wins impress me alot though.

Well, the Strelok interview is (naturally) in russian, so I don't get much out of it.

Hmm. can anyone re-link the qxc interview? didnt see the link and i dont want to scroll through 20 pages -_- (sry for lazyness).
and @syllogism
i guess its kind of a subjective matter, but imo its awesome to see all kinds of styles being succesful. it makes for more variety in the games, and keeps it from being a game of "who makes the least macro/micro mistakes" or "which strategy is mostly optimized", but more of a "who used the games limits and what he had at his disposal in order to beat his opponent the best he could". in other words: it makes the game deeper, and raises skill ceilling, which is always good for a game (E-sport).

yes exactly. as long as you play the same way (no scouting) and don't change, you will eventually be figure out. Like how MKP got figure out by MVP.

anybody knows what the first game after the break will be?

Huh, MKP completely changed his style for the GSL finals and proceeded to play poorly because of it. Nothing to do with "being figured out". If you want to make a point at least give some proper examples.

If you watch the finals you will know that his base trading style was figure out.

He is a 60apm player who consistently floats thousands of minerals in his games despite not being maxed out. Seeing stupid stuff like this really makes me root for Sjow. And you dont have to like him, but you should not make stuff up to justify that. Apart from I dont think that it matters, his APM is not 60. Midgame it is over 100, when necessary it spikes over 200. It is actually very much the same as WhiteRa for example. Basically if he would spam like many other players at the beginning of the game, and a little in between when there is not much to do, poeple like you would regard him as a better player. Its actually ridiculous if you think about it.

I agree with you of course, just think it's kind of funny. I can't help that Sjow gets so much shit despite winning this many tournaments. I think it's more of a situation where Sjow has a lot of haters no reason at all that are all bringing up the most ridiculous stuff. You don't see people posting like this about White-Ra, Kas or Morrow and if they did you'd see me responding the same way. People can't just go around and make shit up in order to discredit a player you dislike. People need a little less hate and a little more love. I've never talked to the guy fwiw nor does he particularly impress me more than other top players. Certainly most people around here aren't justifying their dislike of Sjow very well, but there is a valid reason for disliking him as a player. The players you named have better mechanics or are more creative and interesting. I suppose you can argue his decision making is just so good, but as a spectator his games aren't fun to watch. Goody and Sjow are smart players and I'm cheering more for the smart players than the people who are better at mechanics, but often make dumb decisions.

Sjow and Darkforce out are the two upsets so far. Sjow being one of the tournament favourites is particularly surprising.
Still, there will be a whole lot of really good player going out in the Ro32 (It's looking stacked already), so get used to it. :p

If you watched MKP you would have known that base trading was not his style. Merely a byproduct of it
