It just happened that Legalmind finished 3rd in his group (4th was LiveForever iirc?), and therefore it was possible to pick San and Legalmind, but in future tournaments this sort of anomaly will become less and less likely. Also, Maka is barely Code S based on how he has played in the last couple of seasons if you actually watch his play, I don't get all this fanboyism over him.... I would say he's more than barely Code S, he's mid level Code S. Unfortunately he's really inconsistent. On some days he played stellar, on other's he's played like a platinum level player. I think he's got some stage fright or something. Because he played so poorly against Fruit Dealer I don't know what to think.

This means that you also have players like Maka and Leenock who get taken down to Code A even though its so obvious that they're way above that level... I don't understand this. Why will there always be bad players in code S? First of all, NOBODY in code S/A is "bad". Secondly, over time the weaker players get filtered out; that's the point of the system. And yes, upsets will happen, but I would hardly count Leenock among them. Kid has no idea how to control his units. I honestly cannot think of a zerg in code A right now who has worse unit control than Leenock.

It was fairly clear that Maka and Leenock are in Code A all due to their own fault. They lost during the Up/Down matches and the reason they were there in the first place was because they sucked it up in Code S.

Maka had to face FruitDealer, so you can kind of excuse him a little for dropping to code A. (Of course, he still went 0-2 in the Code S Ro32) Leenock, on the other hand, is completely deserving of Code A because LiveForever beat him fair and square.

Not understanding that logic...if they pick the worst players then the worst players would drop down to Code A, no?
