Even if TL have enough points right now (which they didn't) it would doesn't matter because the participants for GSTL are already set. Also the matches (it means who goes up against whom) for the Ro8 are known. This qulaifier only changes things for next GSL in march.

I feel like for this particular foreigner seeding, because the foreigner house is not completely set up yet (from Artosis's video) they chose the foreigners best placed on the KR ladder, to ensure that they would be up to par with the best the scene has to offer as well as already have an established living situation (not sure about moonglade)
That probably made more logistical sense than sending someone like sjow who has little experience in the korean scene but has been quite dominant in EU tournaments, and will be living and playing in korea for the first time.

Well considering he was code A and is now in the Up/Down matches with the rest of the Code A players that did not win, he would be in a separate tournament?

Note that (T)LiveForever is reporting for military duty from Code S and will be replaced by one of the Code A players who were bumped in the up&down matches.

This will leave an open slot in Code A and it will be filled by (Z)Yeah, so the final list will look slightly different.

There are some pretty big names in this Code A lineup which will hopefully make the Code A tournament next year of a higher quality because some of the games, in fact i would go as far as most of the games were just simply terrible :/

True but this could mean if Liquid can hold onto the spots it has this coming season, and maybe even have some of there Code A guys advance they should make it into the next TL. The only question is because TL does not have 8 guys in Korea right now are they even eligible

I thought this was the major issue above everything else.. TL just doesn't have enough players to compete in the team league according to the initial guidelines and cannot compete?

Agreed.

Also, we don't know if other players had declined the seeds from GOM beforehand. Perhaps GOM had contacted White-Ra is Brat_OK beforehand yet got turned down because they were busy with other European tournaments. Getting offered a seed is no guarantee to accept that seed.

Then again, there are so many more GSL tournaments and qualifiers this year that there is bound to be one where more foreigners get seeded assuming that Ret, HuK, Haypro, and/or Moonglade make it far enough into the tournament that they don't need the seed to stay in Code A.

I'm looking forward to seeing more foreigners play. I'm confident in HuK (great performance on the ladder) and Ret (has already shown promise in the GSL), but skeptical about Moonglade's chances. With Haypro I'm not quite sure. Some say he is as underrated as Jinro was before MLG, but I don't believe that. I think he is Teamliquid's weakest link in Korea.

Well, Haypro is certainly not a bad player, and even if he is TL's weakest link, he is still one of the top foreigners. He has had success in some tournaments and has quite a bit of BW experience. His elimination in GSL S3 was to the hands of BitByBit, which is forgivable considering no one really knew about BBB's all-in style until several rounds into GSL, so it is understandable that Haypro wasn't prepared when he got all-ined all games.

I'm sure that he will do better in straight-up matches, since we haven't seen him play many of those in GSL yet. His creep spreading skills are amazing, and his late game macro is superb and said to be on par with Ret's macro. I've seen his games in the online clan wars streams, and he is impressive when he is not even being all-ined.

Pretty sure he's talking about the bit regarding LiveForever doing his military service and one of the players from the up and down matches getting another shot at Code S as a result ^^

So, Lenoock might get to stay in Code S? That would be awesome, his playstyle is really fun to watch.

He had the opportunity and lost ..so he is now Code A

Pretty sure he's talking about the bit regarding LiveForever doing his military service and one of the players from the up and down matches getting another shot at Code S as a result ^^

Ahh totally misread that part haha.. crazy - we will have to wait and see?

I'm pretty sure now that TL is sitting at 8th place since SlayerS team lost 1 player last GSL in the ro32 of code A. Meaning if GOM does not maintain the 8 member minimum rule. TL will participate in the GSTL. I hope GOM doesn't maintain this and thus we can see a foreign team in the GSTL. Should probably sent a mail and ask for this clarification.

Even if TL have enough points right now (which they didn't) it would doesn't matter because the participants for GSTL are already set. Also the matches (it means who goes up against whom) for the Ro8 are known. This qulaifier only changes things for next GSL in march.

I know that when the Team league and the qualified teams were first announced, Nazgul said the team would be working hard to make it into the next one... I don't know if that was before the 8 player minimum thing was announced or if he has plans to get more players in korea.

So did Bomber/Puzzle not even play? Those guys are consistently beating Code S guys so I find it hard to believe they wouldn't make it into Code A
Why appeal to God when you can appeal to Apaches?
