Im not sure if ESL have changed the rules but its usually a best of 3 rounds, so first team to get to 4 rounds win.

Nope, I recently watched a couple of Sjow reps, and he averaged above 100 in all of them.

That is quite impressive. Really smacks down the myth that you have to have an APM of at least 200-300 to be a high level player.

Depends how you define high level player. If you want to be like MVP or MK you definitely need all the APM you can get.

Yeah, sjow has upped his apm to above 100. Nowadays he's at 100-120 average, which is still low, but evidently good enough to win games.

5 rounds each half is a bit unusual, usually its 3 rounds each way with 10K money, this is 5 rounds each way with 16K money.

Yes, that is quite true, but you can go a long way with an APM that is considered to be very low if you have a great understanding of the game. APM is something that may or may not go up the more you play, and to be a consistent top level GSL S Class player a high APM is helpful.

But a player with lower APM that uses his APM wisely will beat a high APM player that mostly spams around and doesn't use his APM to it's fullest extent.
Easy Tychus, this ain't science fiction.
